Question Honda Bassworks System

Hi!

Im ordering a type S GT through a lease company and have asked for the Bass works upgrade with the Coaxial Speakers. The problem is that honda are saying that the 2 are an either or extra, but this seems odd to me as the bassworks go in the rear and the coax in the front? or have I got it all mixed up.

I have read all about them here on the forum and they suggest that the bassworks is just an amp and 2 speakers. Is this correct or have honda recently changed the bass works system meaning that it will not be compatible?

thanks

No you can have both.

Bassworks go in the rear and co-axials in the front.

You can put the co-axials in the rear instead of the bassworks.

In the front you already have seperate tweeter and mid/bass.
So the value of going to a coax can be discussed.

Perhaps this is what they are thinking..that you donīt want the coax in the front because you have the seperate tweeters there already and therefore they must go in the rear...which they canīt if you want the bassworks.

As it is a lease I presume you cannot go for any aftermarket stuff...most are dissapointed by the Honda upgrades.

can't really answer the question but as far as I can tell by what I've read here, before you go for any upgrade you should install some soundproofing in the doors first, or the gain by the speaker upgrade might be marginal. And if you have to get an (aftermarket) soundproofing upgrade, why pay for the expensive speakers from Honda if there are cheaper (and better?) options available? Take a search for "audio" or "soundproofing" and you will find plenty of interesting stuff

basically yeah, as its leasing. I can go for aftermarket stuff and not tell them (gonna get me a front splitter and interior lights etc) its just that I had some cash left over on the price and this was the easiest way to bring it in. Couldnt see much point in the other stuff (phone kit will be paid for by company and i pod kit is crap, gonna get the dension one).

basically i get 445 per month and it came in at 426 so asked for the other stuff tyo bump it up!

Also I rang honda on this and they didnt have a clue what I was talking about ha ha!

If / when modding a lease car, always be careful about insurance and lease agreement. You do not want to violate some clause which makes your insurance void.

Even fitting the splitters is classed as a mod.

You will need to inform them if you do go ahead and fit the front one as you say you plan to.

nah its cool, the insurance policy is very open. `any vehichle owned by policy holder`. It pretty open cause we drive each others and a lot of hire cars etc. doesnt state model etc on policy. Plus i know for a fact my gaffer has had his A4 chipped cause he gave me the number of the guy who did it for him when i chipped my A3 ha ha!
