Oh Dear God!!!

Im simply gotta get it off my chest! As my mum, partner, kids, cats and the tomoto plant i am growing in my house (which is going really well btw) have already heard... i have just put my car into its 25000mile service and was told it would be done by 5pm. Awesome...
'Will you be wanting a courteousy car'... yes please! (i have kids...)
Out comes the key for a.... 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa!

Okay... okay... i dont actually care if people like this car... BUT OH MY GOD! what the f%&£*%*&*(^^*$ is this????? and to top it off a ruddy 3 door! with 2 rather annoying, rather well fed kids... i do not want a 3 door car, nor do i want anything slower than a 1.6 and especially something that is NOT a Honda!!!

So i basically had to learn to drive again... (i use the v-tec man/auto) and well without a clutch i very much used to having left leg lazi itus! So i spent most of the journey home concentrating how to use the gears again and at the very first roundabout stalling and holding up peak traffic! i actually had a laughing fit at that moment and wel people driving past would have saw a very red faced woman p**ing herself laughing!!!

So there i was getting used to the car... then i have to enter a MOTORWAY! what???? aggggggggggg! (yeah u guessed it, spent it in the first lane, discovering 5th gear was quite funny)!

So im at home, not going out till 4.30pm... refusing too!

I really do appreciate my car soooooooooooooooooooooo much and really miss it!
I want my Baby back!!!!

(btw... i am in no way taking the p*ss out of 1.2 letre cars, they get us from A - B........ oh heck yes i blo*dy well am!!!

Thanks for reading!!!

And I thought I was hard done by, being given a 1.4 Civic (complete with sweaty socks that had been left in console) when my CTR went in for gearbox and handbrake repairs.

ha, thats funny. I thought I was going in reverse when I jumped back into my old 1.6 civic. I was wondering if the throttle was broken when I put my foot down. I guess though a 1.2 Vaux corsa is worse.

Sorry to dim your lights!

Hi Streaky - I take it you bring home the bacon?

Yes the Corsa is no trail blazer, but I have just had the latest 'Which' Car reliability survey and the Civic has fallen through the floor for reliability - it comes in at the bottom of the pile 21st out of 21 cars. They had feedback from 668 owners - It's time Honda got a grip, because the list of troubles brought to light on this site make shocking reading.
I have dumped my Civic and not a minute too soon, but I hope yours is dependable.

Japan must be ready to do a Pearl Harbour on Swindon.

Eddie.

The same thing happened to me recently. 4 months driving nothing but i-SHIFT, then I borrowed the keys to someone's manual BMW:

What kind of car doesn't change down to 1st for you when you reach traffic lights?
What's all this nonsense with having to press the clutch?

Stalled twice in 4 minutes - all confidence out of the window.

I'd forgotten how easy life is with an i-SHIFT.

Sh****ng myself that I've got to drive a 17 seater (manual) bus 1,200 miles around the 3 peaks in a fortnight.

I am totally beginning to agree with you right now!!!

I trust to the best of my knowledge that they will look after my car when i look after theres... only to come home (stupidly didnt examine it whilst there... but did before i gave it to them) and there be a dent in the crease mark oif the drivers door car!
Im soooo peeved! I take care of there st**id courterousy car like its made of gold because... well obviously i dont wanna damage it, and i expect the same with my car!
So gutted!!!

IMO the Corsa is a much better car as it is less likley to fall apart and is overall much better built.

As I posted on the other thread "damage to my baby"- my work car. Sorry for the poor photo (cam phone) and the fact it is filthy!

I cannot believe anyone says this is better than the Civic. I cannot wait to get in the Civic after spending all day in that heap of junk.. It has a terrible engine, every part of the interior squeaks and rattles (especially the doors and windows), it has had 2 recalls, and I hate the thing.
