It would of had to have upto but less and 6,000 miles on it and Mini usually sell demo's at 5,000 miles and it has to have been registered to the dealers, which his wasn't and the V5 would have stated so, so I doubt they did.
Probably find they were honest and told someone that he didn't like it and changed for something else. I've seen that happen with someone who bought a an X3 M Sport, all the goodies on it only just done over 1000 miles and then decided they wanted a 3 series convertible instead. Mental but the garage sold it as 1 owner |

My mums last car was bought because the guy ordered a 3 series for him and a Z3 for his GF, paid the deposit, but didn't have enough to pay the balance, so it was registered ready to pick up, but the guy never even sat in it.

Still owe £17k on my 07 reg FK2 EX ... 2 Honda dealers have offered me £12,500 ... I would be £4,500 out of pocket... told them to shove it ...if you're so desperate to want to lose money like that on a piece of metal you must be a very sad person... don't let them get away with it... i'm sure we all would give anyone £4,500 less than the market value of their car!

Oh I agree....but it must be a very very bad situation to have to lose £4,500! I mean... £4,500...if mine was a 3door and i found out my girlfriend was pregnant for that sort of money i'd make do... so his kids may be a little warm as the windows don't roll down...for £4,500 i'll personally fan them all down with a palm leaf on ever journey!... and anyway... what about the parents that can't drive and have to take the bus...they certainly don't have air-con.

It also comes down to what money you put down on your car, some people put down little or no deposit on their car and then finance it so that makes what the 'owe' on the car more than someone who puts down a bigger deposit so folk with the lesser deposit feel that they are losing out more because basically they are paying a off the finance including the interest charge on the top. For people like myself who buy cars outright then the amount we would lose would be a fair whack but we can use the car as a deposit on another one without having to use so much of it to pay off the finance or find an amount to cover the finance before we can get another car. Oh and not been on a bus recently, granted the older buses don't have air con, but the new ones do and its a right pain cause you have to sit in the cold wether you like it or not |

Dealers will almost always try it on, it's part of their job. They have to maximise profit if possible.
I've always gone into a showroom giving the impression that I am making enquiries for the next registration change. This way they have no idea that I am looking to change now. More often than not they try the sales patter to try and force a sooner sale. That gives me the opportunity to push them to convince me that I should change now with a better deal. Also, do some homework on realistic prices and write your acceptable switchover figure down on a post-it or similar and have it in your top pocket. When they give a switchover figure that is way off your mark, show them your figure and politely walk out. I've had more than one occasion when the customary "I will have to consult the manager" routine has worked. But your figures must be realistic. |

Hell yeah i know what you mean Big& ... Since my mate lost so much on his factory new corsa i swore i'd never ever buy a brand new car...so i thought i was clever buying a 6month old EX... 6 months later now at 1 year old i've lost £4,500... if i'm all honest i think the next time i swap my car i'll be going for one a couple of years old...worth it for me as i use a company car anyway so i only put 4000 miles a year on my own.

Defiantely Hlxbravo... keep the car a little longer as cars depreciate less over time...
And if it's brake dust you're tired off cleaning off... i recommend EBC Redstuff brake pads from Display Products They give an awsome bite when heavy braking in the FN2 and give off very little brake dust! Stay clear of GreenStuff pads as they're only rated upto 200bhp, therefore won't last. |
