1st service Sweden experience?

Hi,

I've booked in my Civic for its first service this week, since its done almost 20.000km by now. I've spoken to 3 different dealers and they all seem to charge the same for this, arount 2200SEK (240€). When I booked the service the dealer asked me if there is something else I would like to have fixed when I leave it with them, if I've noticed any other problems, and I thought that was a bit of an odd question, just like if they knew it had faults that need to be fixed but they rather not do it unless you point it out to them.. So I wonder if any of you Swedes on this forum have any experience with the dealers in Sweden and what they will do and not do in terms of fixing little problems such as rattling dash or knocking suspension?

I'm making a list of faults or issues that im having with it at the moment
btw, the dealer is Magnussons just outside of Göteborg.

Ok since no one replied I'm assuming none of the swedish readers here have done the service yet I just came back from my first service. Exept the regular stuff they do on the first service they also replaced the rear suspension for me, yay! During servicing I got a 1.4 Civic to drive around with and I must say I didn't think it was as awfull as some here would make it to be. In town I had no problems keeping up with the traffic, but on the motorway it was really noticable that there was a smaller engine in it. But hey the fuel consupmtion is a lot less so you get what you pay for i guess. Other than this i got a quote for a type-r kit (spoilers, sideskirts, wing etc. + lowering of suspension for 15.000SEK (1600€) Does this seem like a good deal?

Yes, that sounds like a good deal. The Grand prix package is around 16-19k depending on where you go.

The lowering of the suspension, was that Honda parts or what?

I have some 10 months to first service so it is still some time away, but I got a set of lowering springs which I think I should fit. But I need to get the time to do it.

Not been in for my first service yet.

Type-R kit?
Do you mean Grand Prix Kit?

The Type R parts will not fit easily...

No I actually asked the service manager specifically if it was the type-r kit and if that wouldnt cause problems with the fitting. He then took me to the carpark where they had the customer cars that were waiting for pickup and showed me a 1.8 sport with the type-r package fitted, he explained that it could be done and that they just needed to adjust the trims that go on the side of the car. It sure didn't look like the grand prix pack either.

Regarding colour coding the regular trims he thought that the next year model of the Civic would come colour coded as standard.

I have no idea actually Didnt think of asking that, it's a Honda dealer so I guess im just confident that whatever they use should be up for the job.

It CAN be done...but as you say some "adjustment" is needed. Sounds like a good dealer who does stuff like that.

Yeah I was totally blown away by the friendlyness and service mindedness of this dealer. Having gone from the worst dealer ever, a major SAAB dealer in Göteborg (my last car was a SAAB), the Honda dealer where I bought my Civ seemed like heaven in comparison.. but now when I've been to Magnussons instead I must say that even my first Honda dealer seems a bit rude and lazy in comparison.

It is nice to hear a few good words about dealers anyway. I will for instance be quite careful when I give mine to a mechanic the next time. Stupid mechanices makes holes in the carpet.
