It seems priced a little too high to me. Perhaps there is some margin for haggling.
I've had a look at EX's on my local dealers website and they are a bit cheaper. Have a look: Holdcroft Honda - Used Cars |

Personally I think that all galaxy grey EX's are absolutely priceless and people should be willing to pay at least double the cost of any other car! That's mainly cause I've got one and I'll want to sell it sometime in the future though
Agreed that price does seem a touch high depending on condition and any other options but I suppose you'll have a dealer premium on there anway - always worth looking around for a good private example in my opinion. |

good to know minisweeper!
i hadn't even sat in one until today all the voice recognition gadgets are very funky, it was a nice leather interior... no bumps or scrapes and one previous owner. i guess i could shave a few pounds off if i source one privately, but I might find such a top spec one ni the same condition. plus the dealer is only 10 minutes down the road, so can easily drop it in there should there be any probs. it looks a beautiful machine! |

You'll probably be able to get the price reduced if you try. Do some research and show them prices of similar models being offered by other Honda dealers.

To be honest secretmachines, I put the word out with a couple of different dealers nationwide that I was looking for my car when I bought it and none of them came up with the goods - a couple came close but just weren't quite right (and some of them weren't even in great condition!) I put the word out on here and found one a short while later
Depends what you're looking for and how long you can wait. Certainly if you're happy with the one you've seen and you've got a p/x (which I didnt) then go and cut the best deal you can on it. If there's something you're not quite sure about (particular extra or something) and you can hang around then keep your eye on the for sale forums. Whatever you do it'll be completely worth it |

thank you minisweeper
i'd like to get the car as soon as possible, you know what it's like when you decide you are ready to buy something new like that! I think in the grand scheme of things, i'm not going to be able shave THAT much off the price... i know a couple of hundred pounds is always handy to have... but i see the car as being with me for the foreseeable future and bearing in mind i've got a T-reg fiat punto which isn't in A1 condition, then most cars are going to be an astronomical improvement on what i currently drive (i don't even have power steering lol!) the dealer gave me the brochure about extras and added specs... are there any things you would advise getting? |

I'd be surprised if you could add most of them given it's a used car... Mine has the 18" wheels, sunroof, leather, reversing camera, mats and boot tray. I'd definitely be getting them to chuck the mats in if the car doesnt already have some (or even if it does i'd want new ones) as they're handy for keeping it looking clean if nothing else. Reversing camera is nice but not everyone likes them. I also love how the wheels change the look of the car but they're expensive and dont do much for the ride.
As you say if you're all ready and excited then just go for it. I had a '51 clio before mine and I got completely shafted selling it but I certainly wasn't in a rush to go back Get it down to £12,500 with a set of mats and I reckon you've got yourself a deal |

i am really excited by the prospect
everyone loves to get a great deal, but i don't think 12.5k for that car is a bad deal. one question... the DVD sat nav system... daft question, but what is DVD about it? surely you can't play regular movie DVDs in it?! or is it for when you have a dvd of mp3s for example, it means it can read those? |

It's about the same price that I paid for mine back in March (06 plare EX) - mine had same milage, a slightly longer warranty (by a couple of months), a rear parking camera (fantastic) and blue footwell lighting (pointless!). Bear in mind I live in London so the dealer margin is likely to be higher than elsewhere in the country (higher rents, wages etc etc)
I paid £13000 including mats, new spare wheel and next service service. My old car is a X reg 206 that's done 100,000 miles and I needed something baby friendly for the little one - the leap between the two was massive! |
