servicing question

I bought my 07 type s last week from a local car sales/garage (non honda dealer) and they gave the car a service so my question is.. for the warranty to remain valid does it need to be a honda dealer to carry out all servicing.
The garage did stamp the service book but no details of what they did or used (if anything!) also regarding the service book there had been something stapled to the 1st page but had been removed by someone, just wandering what! maybe receipts etc for any other work by previous owner, anybody else get things stapled to their service book?

Sorry for the long post for small questions

If the service bok is stamped you should be fine
you don't need to have any other paper work

If you want to set your mind at rest one of the dealers on here might confirm this for you or you could pop along to your local honda dealer and just double check with them

In order to keep your Honda Warranty, your car must be serviced to Honda schedule by a VAT registered garage and using only Honda parts (with proof, ie invoices ) No ifs or buts that is the way it is.
Cheers.....Tony..

After my first service it was followed up by a call from Honda asking about my service experience.

I suppose Honda keep records and maybe you can find out the history from a dealer ?

Hi Blue..
Mine was the same owned by Mr Honda UK.. But I bought it through A.Clark Honda in Killie and it got it's first service through them. There was no mention of what was done but it had only 8k on the clock so it wouldn't or shouldn't need much by an oil change.
Welcome to the site..!

you do not have to use Honda parts
You can use parts of an equal quality right ?

Yep

Considering the first service is mainly an oil and filter change and an alleged visual inspection of some parts then it's very expensive.

I wonder whether the first service 'actually' takes any more than about 15-20 minutes ?

I am kicking myself for not taking out the 5 year deal.
