I know i sound really anti superguard, but even I bought it for my current car!!
I suppose i'm just bitter I paid so much for a product that costs so little!! At the end of the day, buy what you feel most comfortable purchasing. I can understand why people choose the superguard (as I chose it for the same reasons); its easy, convenient and is available hassle free from your dealer when you buy the car, requiring no extra effort from you! My only concern is that people are being taken advantage of by the dealers, paying an extortionate amount for a product that a) isn't as good as competitors b) costs an arm and a leg, and c) may be applied badly/incorrectly |

Also just as food for thought.
You may be considering getting superguard and paying for the privilege but listen to what this person wrote on another forum regarding this: Quote:

From what I gather, Halfords sell Autoglym products. These aren't bad at all and aren't too pricey either.
Right, for an ideal setup i'd say to get the Klasse sealant glaze from here it lasts longer than any other sealant, making it incredible value for money! For interior, i'd use the blackfire interior protectant which you can purchase here so you're looking at about £28 for these two products. Of course you can buy whatever you want for cleaning as it doesn't make too much difference. It may even be cheaper to have it valeted. If you want a kit from ebay then i would suggest this kit from diamondbrite. |

If you want top notch car cleaning products that are a little more pricey (but still much less than superguard) then contact polished bliss about getting the blackfire wet diamond complete kit and the blackfire advanced interior care kit. They don't advertise the kits on their website but they do sell the products individually.
As an indication of price, this american website sell the kits for $120 for the pair (roughly £70). Its worth asking polished bliss if they sell the kits because it might get pretty expensive buying the products seperately. |

P.S. the reason i'd go for diamondbrite over superguard is that you'll notice the premier brands (mercedes, bmw, audi etc.) offer diamondbrite whereas the lesser makes (nissan, honda, vauxhall) offer superguard.
Now i'm probably being extremely snobbish but surely the companies who endorse a product should reflect the quality of the product itself? |

I would'nt bother wasting you time Ads, trying to help as it seems a lot of peoples minds are made up what an excellent product their £300 worth of dealer applied paint protection systems are.
Danko if you wash your car and then use a chemical cleaner such as Zymol HD or even Meg's deep crystal paint cleaner, followed by claying your paint work will be like glass. It's not the sealant that will make the paint work smooth, it's the prep. Any quailty sealant will give just as good, if not better results. For long term protection with the least effort use as Ads said in the previous post, Klasse sealant glaze / Car-lack 68 / Jeffs werkstatt acrylic (all similar products based on the same formula) and top off with some Collinite 476 wax. There are so many better quailty products that everyone could apply to their cars, at a fraction of the cost. It may take 2-3 hours for the initial clean / prep / application, but it will last for at least 6 months, maybe more if you top up the wax protection and you get an excellent range of cleaning products that will last for years Superguard etc is just what some people like to believe is a miracle cure for not having to look after their cars, these so call wonder products just does'nt exist. |

She's my first new car too!
Oh well i suppose it is time to find out all about claying, waxing and such. Did anyone see the topgear, i think it was anyway, with the most expensive car-wash in the world. something like a week per car. At about £4000 as well. I tell you what for that money that car better wash itself At least it might make us supaguarders feel a little less ripped off!!! Supaguard is a waste of money and a rip-off. Wait until you have a serious paint problem to deal with and try to get any recourse on the guarantee that it protects the paint. I have such a situation with a two year old Civic and would with the benefit of hind sight been better off spending the money I spent on Supaguard through the dealer, on paying a professional company to wax the car regularly in addition to the tlc I gave the car.
