I would like to add another star to my already good experience with Johnsons in Oxford, after replacing the bumper, I got a call the next day making sure I was happy and that the work was done to my satisfaction etc. and then the next day I got a letter thanking me for taking part in the customer service telephone call.

Also, one thing Johnsons mentioned in the letter is an interest free pay monthly service plan to spread the cost of servicing, I am not interested with it being a company car, but those of you owners might want to give Johnsons a call. They are at Oxford, Beaconsfield, Dunstable, Milton Keynes and Slough.

** I am in no way connected with Johnsons, just very happy with the service they have given me and felt that a monthly service plan might be a good way to keep your costs down.

Amethyst of Cheltenham have been great. The sales process was fine, delivery happened within 4 weeks....and was 3 weeks earlier than they thought it would be. The 2 warranty issues (rear shocks and creak from the roof) were sorted quickly and efficiently.

Incidentally they are also a small group (3 dealers in the southwest) and it seems the small groups put customer service top. Buy from the big chains may save you £350 or whatever (my car was not discounted but metallic paint was added for free, so in effect a £350 discount) over above what I saved but I bet the service will be crap and delivery times longer than you expect.

After mine's been in for its re-fit, I'll post my thoughts on the dealer - so far, so good.

Don't want preferential treatment at all!!!

I would just like to say that maybe not all Johnson's are that good. I have had very poor service from one of their branches, it was actually pre-sales that was appalling, hence they are not getting my EX for me - I do live 7 miles from MK - Go figure.

I would second the recommendation of Amethyst in Cheltenham. This is the second new Honda I have had from them (a recommendation in itself), and they have been good with both.

This Civic was delivered early after a helpful sales process during which I was well advised and kept informed (Thanks Andy), and service since has been fine.

My First visit was to Clover Leaf Honda in Reading.
After waiting in reception for 10 mins with (seemingly) lots of staff milling about I was told they were short of staff that day and could I come back. I asked if I could come back on Sunday and they said they were very busy then too, had they got a brochure "No". Could I just have a look at a car "No - were too busy". Can I leave some details? They took my details down reluctantly on some scrap paper. They eventually phoned six days later when I happily told them I had ordered my Civic. I have since heard similar reports from a friend who wanted to buy a new Jazz.

I next tried Johnsons Honda in Slough (I work opposite). The salesman was OTT babbling with inane sales patter and to be honest I felt I knew more about the car than he did. Everything was possible, quick delivery, options, extras - till he checked the computer - it went downhill from there. They were not prepared to discount enough for my liking too.

My final visit was to Maidenhead Honda, which is actually the nearest to where I live in Henley, but also the smallest of the three dealerships and not part of a network of dealers. The service was excellent, made me and the wife feel important. Good knowledge of Civic. Clear delivery date that was adhered to. I just felt the service was very genuine. It was also nice to have all the finance, insurance, gap & servicing deals explained clearly. Managed to get a decent discount too on the list price, though I suspect the salesman going into the managers office to agree it is actually play acting lol. The flowers for the misses and full tank of fuel were an unexpected bonus.

Well that's my experiences anyway.
Have to agree at least Maidenhead over Clover leaf I tried to get a test drive and had to phone up 3 times over three weeks before someone called me back! 'To Busy', "In on my own today sorry" etc

Popped into Maidenhead and much friendlier, sat me down and check availabilities etc etc

Had I not been getting it as a fleet car I would have ordered from Madenhead

I've used SB Honda in Wakefield for my Accord, Type-R and now my 06 Civic.

Always been great with me. Andy, the service manager, is excellent.

The ex-wife bought a non Honda from them too (which I'm still paying for !!)

Springfield Sunderland have been brilliant, sorted out lots of problems (not with the car) and Jonny G is the best sales man i have met. They will be on my Christmas card list.

Happy to recommend Phoenix Honda in Linwood, near Glasgow Airport. Years of great service.

Ask for James Devanney or John McGuire.

I notice the North West of England does not have many/any posts.

Are they all else where or just no replies from here yet?

I bought from ALM Honda in Macclesfield. They were fine for the sales/ordering process, but not so good on the service side - missed a big problem during PDI, and apparently didn't want to quote for fitting a rear camera. So now I use Francis when I'm working in Leicester.

I ordered mine from Arnold Clark in Stockport. I also visited ALM in Macclesfield. The sales man was better informed at ALM and you get unaccompanied test drives, where as the person to whom I spoke at was far less informed, but ultimately it came down to ££££s and I got a far better deal @ Arnold Clark.

Neither dealer tried to apply undue pressure to secure a deal.

Obviously I have no experiance of service yet but I will take them the list of known faults (thanks Pottsy) before I take delivery and report back.

Are there any good dealers?!?!?!?!?!? I called 3 yesterday to find out about this HFT fix and none of them had ever heard of it or ever received a complaint about it!!!!!!!!!! I told one of them that isn't the truth cos I'd mentioned it several times before.

Called CS and they confirmed the fix so called the dealer back....to his amazement he went ahead and booked me in ....NEXT FRIDAY!!!!

All rubbish a far I am concerned, hate the lot of em

I purchased my car from Arnold Clark Honda; they applied pressure to me but it was a good deal so went for it.
Had to take the car back for a couple of minor things; plus a few other issues so I went to ALM Honda for my servicing, service was great and courtesy car was given (which Arnold Clark couldn't supply previously)

Horizon Honda in Bournemouth

Still waiting for the boss to ok my new civic but had a 1.8 VTEC a few years ago from Horizon Honda in sunny Bournemouth, had the car for 5 years and could not fault Horizon on anything over all that time. Always a 1st class service.

Found Alan Day in Southampton to be pretty good so far. No pressure from salesman, good price for my trade-in without having to ask and good aftersales service up to now. Unlike the saleslady at the local Seat dealer, the Alan Day salesman agreed with my opinion about the need for a spare wheel, rather than a bottle of foam.
