Has anyone had any dealings with Honda Chiswick? I went to both Collindale and Chiswick, and had to go through the whole play acting thing in both, mind you I also went through the same thing when buying a Ford and Lexus, clearly this is an industry standard!

Claire - although I'm sorry to hear about your knee, it's a relief to hear it's not just me who found it invisible! I did think about making a fuss about it, but in the end the usual apathy kicked in - too much hassle.

Hi, I'm new to the forum but I thought I would give you my two penneth on my dealer in Aylesbury.

The pre-sales was very good, allowed me to have two back to back test drives of the 1.8 petrol and 2.2 diesel models, both unaccompanied and for about 30 mins each.

All of the financial options were discussed in detail and the specification and options that I wanted were discussed and a delivery date was given to me and the car was available on the date agreed.

The salesman even let me have a sneak peek at my car as they were fitting the options to it in the service centre, which was nice!

They have also had to repair my Civic (front spoiler - kamikazee pheasant) and did this in a morning and the price was very reasonable.

The car will be going in tomorrow under warranty to have a faulty light switch replaced which should take half an hour to swap out.

I have yet to have my first service with Aylesbury Honda but the service to date has been very good.

I'll post my findings after the first service.

Cheers!

I bought mine from Francis in Mountsorrel, and they were excellent.

Ruislip Honda are fantastic - They let me have two 24hr test drives even though they knew that I was buying the car through another dealership!! The service side is excellent too and I know of two other people who have bought from them in the last year and cant praise them enough

Hi there,

Went to Honda Chiswick today and found they are the BEST! Great service, great staff, great attitude and of course, great cars...

The name "Ruislip" sounds funny for us Finns, cause "ruis" means rye in the Finnish language, "Ryelip"

Sorry, I just couldn't resist...

My Civic came from Collins Honda near Hailsham. Excellent pre-sales service and the service department is also very helpful. I also dealt with Bexhill Honda after sales, although they were much less helpful and I won't be going there again.

I would recommend Trident Honda, my Jazz came from their Surbiton branch (used car sub-branch of Trident Honda Thames Ditton). I believe Surbiton/Thames Ditton branch has now changed hands but I've heard good reports about their Weybridge and Ottershaw Honda dealers.

How strange - we actually pronounce it 'Ryeslip' - perhaps it's an early Finnish colony?

Hehe, here we would likely pronounce it "Ruislimppu" which means Ryeloaf

Dealer efficiency

Having purchased several new Hondas from my local dealer over the last few years, I had always received excellent and efficient service from them - UNTIL I bought my current new Civic!
Without going into too many details, I was handed documents (manual, service book etc.) applicable to a CR-V instead of the Civic. My correct documents could not be found so they cannibalised them from another new Civic. This in turn lead to a problem identifying my locking wheel nut key's serial number.
The car had a flat battery on collection due to the tailgate not being fully closed. There were also further minor irritations and all of this lead me to complain in writing.
The outcome was that they informed me "things" had been put into place to ensure that these types of problems would never reoccur.
All of this happened last July.

My neighbour has just taken delivery of a new Jazz from the same dealership.
It was picked up on Saturday and on the Sunday morning, he noticed that they had put the wrong number plates on it! He was due to go out that day but could not use the car since it would have been illegal.
Late yesterday afternoon, nearly dark and with the aid of a torch, the dealership's "Sales Executive" arrived, removed the stuck-on plates and replaced them with the correct ones.

Moral of this tale - Dealerships do not always learn by their mistakes in spite of "things" being put in place!

Both my new car and my last were bought from DeVries Honda in Hull and I have used them for the last 10 years. Found them helpful and generally quite user friendly. On a previous car (not bought from them) they sorted out and electrical fault and confirmed it was under the warrenty - would have cost £500. They are not the most moveable on price, but I feel assured about the service I would have.

Stuart Graham Honda in Crewe were fantastic when I visited last week. Finally got round to getting the HFT and Filler cap mods. A* service, both working well at present ( though I am waiting for the filler cap mod to fail). The staff were excellent, especially considering my car wasn't bought from them.

Now that my problems have been sorted, I can say that ALM Honda, Macclesfield, have been very good, and would recommend them.
Ben, the Service Manager, collected my car, and it was returned in pristine condition. Well done to them.

Please add City Honda at Basingstoke to the list of good dealers.
I have not been without problems but they have/are being fixed without question and with superb service.
Regards
Tony

Thumbs up One for the South West.

Bought all my Civics from Rowes Honda in Plymouth.
Excellent customer service and no pushy sales at all.
Phoned me to let me know the car had just been delivered and were more than happy for me to check it out pre-pdi.
A completely painless experience.
