How did you get such a low interest rate?

Dealership weekend offer apparently. I had to purchase the car before the end of March to get it.

oh right. my local honda dealer wanted to charge 11.9% interest. I politely turned it down. So just in the middle of hunting around and also looking at the pcp option.

pocket full of cash

I wanted to pay by cheque but it would have taken to much time to get that that is why I got cash from bank I put it into my pocket and drove 370 km to Belgium to collect my car. My old car was traded in as a part of payment.

Dealer wouldn't take my cheque so paid by Master Card.

With all those Air Miles I got, I don't really need the car any more now!!!

Old car as deposit and loan for the rest...

made me laugh as we had got a quote from another Honda dealer offering a 1.4 at under £250 a month for 5 years, but ended up using this to get the dealer we used to get our 1.8 for the same price!

Mines on an ECO (Employee Car Ownership) Scheme, no option above. Its like a company car, only its in my name. They give me money towards it, and the only thing I have to do is to pay the equivalent P11D tax value to the lease company for my benchmark car, plus any addtional cost to lease the Civic. In actual fact the Civic costs more than the benchmark Passat SE diesel, £40 per month more. So the company pay me an amount, which they gross up to include the tax I would pay on it to ensure I am not out of pocket. And, to ensure the car is insured, it is on their insurance, but because it is a "personal" car, I have to pay tax on the benefit of using their insurance, so the company make another payment to me equal to the benefit in kind value of the insurance, so that when they tax it I am not our of pocket. However, the maintenance part of the contract is paid into my wage packet, and then taken out again and paid direct to the lease company on my behalf.

Are we all clear, I think it is a tax loophole for the company, and I can choose any car, within reason, giving me more choice compared to a standard company car, therefore making me happier and more productive. Except Mr Brown is trying to close the loophole.
