Thumbs up Don't have to wait much longer now...

Time to start my own thread, finally. The car salesman from Veho called me today and told me that my car will arrive to the country in a few days, after which they'll start installing the extras, so I should have my car within this month.

All on schedule, of course. But it was nice to hear about my car anyway.

Of course.

The car has such a spaceship look that I want to pose with the car, in a black suit and shades, holding a Super Soaker. MiB style.

Just kidding. Or maybe not.

Yey! Congratulations in advance. I believe there's quite a lot of Civic spotting being done in the Iso Omena car park, right Uffe? Maybe you two will spot each other there. I presume I'm the only one in Finland at the moment with a Civinfo.com sticker on mine, so look out for my Galaxy grey shuttle

Okay, got a confirmation. I'll receive my car on Monday the 23rd this month. Rapture and joy.. and a slight bleh, because, come on, it would have been so much cooler to receive the car for the weekend.

At that point, though, it's still missing the reverse camera, because they couldn't get the components in time, so it will be installed later.

Well, I guess I can live without one gadget for a while, because the car itself is gadgety enough anyway. I'll probably learn to appreciate the reverse camera in a whole new way too, having to reverse without it, given Civic's limited rear visibility, for a while...

Woohoo!! Got a call from Veho. I'll be picking up my brand new Civic - with the reverse camera included - today afternoon. So I got it for the weekend after all. Yay!

Ahh, hell. More Civics around. You're making my car feel common.

Hope you enjoy it, Skaven!

Don't forget to check it before you sign any papers.

Oh yeah. Better print me a checklist. But shouldn't any glitches be covered by the warranty even if I do sign?

They will. It just helps to point out any scratches or such to the dealer before you take delivery.

I went in the next day to show them the dash and had no problems at all, so if you can't wait - and I'm sure you can't - then by all means, hit the road.

All right! Got my nighthawk black Civic, and left my old Twingo behind. Been test driving it in dark and rain now, and seems to be working great. The only fault (?) I found was that there's a tiny square piece of rubber seal(?), about 3 x 8 mm, sticking out of the left bottom side of the glass front. It's hard to tell if it's a manufacturing error or not.

The car drives well... just that being still a bit used to my old Twingo's clutch and gas pedal, I managed to stall the Honda's engine a couple of times when I was stopped at a crossroads. I hope it didn't do anything permanently bad to the engine at this early stage when the engine still has to be run in (or whatever the correct English term was).

I have to add that I'm quite pleased with the dealer. They paid me well for my Twingo, they gave the best price of any car dealer I've spoken to about it. And they actually managed to fulfill my special request. That is, to get the car already on friday for the weekend, instead of the originally agreed monday. Very nice of them. I'm teh happy customer.

Moi Skaven, wishing you the very best luck with your new baby
I do agree, Veho is a pretty good dealer here, so far they have never complained or came up with stupid explanations during my visits to their service. They've even offered my baby free-of-charge hand wash a couple of times when they forgot to clean some spots on the dashboard. They also seem to know pretty much about different Civic faults, though they haven't yet managed to fully sort out the dashboard noise, but they're working hard on it.

And yes, I will post pictures of my new pride and joy at some point. I just need a combination of having enough time, a pretty, clear spot where I can take my car for photography, and nice weather. Those three haven't quite yet occurred simultaneously.
