drivethedeal.com Anyone used them??

Has anyone used them for purchasing there Civic or any other car? Just that i have heard good reports about them and they offer good prices.

They apparently just source the best deal as such from an official Honda Dealer.

But im a bit worried about buying a car that way and would feel far happier using my local dealer. Especially if i run into faults which seems quite likely after reading the forums. But then if they are gen then it would save a fair bit of money and you still have the official Honda 3 yr warranty.

You dont deal with them directly. They put you onto the chosen Honda Dealer which could be anywhere in the UK.

Hi Type S
I purchased my 2.2 EX through drive the deal, got a good discount from the honda fleet main dealer they recommended in wolverhampton.
They also quoted a better delivery time than my local dealer could offer.
All warranty work to date has been carried out by my local dealer no probs no questions asked.
Totally satisfied customer and will go this route again next time round.
Any further questions concerns please ask, happy to respond.
regards Jeff

When i went to my local dealer they were all happy etc and saying how they would throw in supagard for no extra. As soon as I mentioned the drivethedeal price there attitude changed and basically they were not even interested in trying to compete. They just gave me the old story of but we will be able to show you personally around the car and explain the sat nav etc etc etc. But i think i would rather save over £800 than be shown how to use the sat nav.

If they had got near to the price i would of rather bought it from them as it would be easier to get it local.

But as it happened im glad i didnt now as im holding out for the Type S. Once thats out then ill be out to see who does the best deal.

I used Drive the Deal and had no problems at all. All very straight forward, and with a 3 week wait for the car, quick as well. The few subsequent problems I have had since were sorted out quite happily by local dealers.

I imported my Accord from Belgium in 2000 and it had warranty work on it done no questions asked, so using a UK broker to buy a UK made car is zero risk!

When I imported my Accord Type R from Belgium the UK RRP was £24K (ouch) but the exchange rate improved in my favour after the deposit and I ended up paying 18K, plus around 500 for aircon (instead of 1000).

So . . . Honda make the car in Swindon, ship it to Belgium, I then ship it back and it still costs £6000 LESS than if I had banged on the Swindon factory door and asked for one there and then!

The sooner we get the Euro the easier it will be for us Brits because all European prices will be transparent, thus making the purchase of ANY car from ANY EU country a reality.

To do the maths, you'd first of all need to know what the manufacturer is charging for each model, in different countries in Europe.
The basic price for the EX in Britain, will be more than say Spain.
In an ideal world, we in europe should all be paying the same. But it doesn't work like that.
And I don't think it ever will.

drivethedeal.com at the moment are only saving around £200 on what the book price is for the honda type S. If thats the case I would prefer to just get it from my local honda dealer as im sure they would come down £200 or chuck some extras in or whatever.
