Does colour matter?

I suspect I am being thick but from what I have gathered from other posts, Honda make batches of Civic models as and when there are enough orders to fill.

Would this apply to colours too?? I am gonna be waiting ages for my 2.2 Ex in Milano Red - surely this wait wouldn't decrease if I had a different colour....would it?

Any thoughts??

my understanding is that yes, it does.

dunno if they have to clean the big paint tank out for each set of colours or something

but annecdotal evidence implies that they wait until they have batches of spec / colour to do all at once.

certainly when I ordered (in March), I was told I could wait until August for my NHB, or have a Cosmic Grey in July - both identical spec

I went for red and was told that it would be a longer delivery than other colours, due to the fact that it is the standard colour and they therefore don't make as many, only heresay from the lease company but you never know.

I believe they are built in batches, so if you are number one in the batch you will wait longer than say if you were the 200th persion to order and yours is the last car in the batch, depends how popular the colour is.

I think red is one of tleast common colours I have seen on the civic. Silvers and greys win hands down for this area, followed by black.

I don't know about any batch work, I thought they just made whatever car was orderd when they received it. But I never really put any thought into it!

When I was looking into ordering my Civic I originaly was going for Red but was informed by the Salesman that delivery would be longer for this colour. Decided to go for Vivid Blue instead only to have delivery put back on this shortly after ordering.

Ive waited 2 months for a red ES ( pick up tomorrow ) first told 5 weeks then put back 3 weeks then came forward 1 week, so you can never be sure what they tell you on order dates.

most people dont like red cars including me, but when i saw a red one in the show room it made my mind up there and then, as it seams red really suits this shape, but i dont think it looks that good in silver, where as my last car looked best in silver. all the press shots of the type r are in red, as it must look crap in other colours.

red doesent seam that popular, which is good as wont be meny about when i sell mine + you never get the £400 quid back for the colour when u come to sell it, spent that on parking sensors, and got free honda happiness and half my sensor money back, due to a careless instalation by the dealer.
