Rip-off Honda!
I know I'm not the only one frustrated at Hondas crazy pricing. If i added all the accessories and extras I would like I'd be paying nearly £4k, i already have an EX (Top of the range model (apparently)). Honda make some pretty desireable pieces of body parts, alloys, gadgets but people are paying over the odds for the extras. Do they not realise if they cut the price a bit more people would buy which would more than make up for the money they lose at current value.
Back me up on this people! ps I'm probably going to give in and buy the image pack and some 18" storms |

Couldn't agree more and have argued on here that it's almost as though Honda don't want our custom with regards to added extras. I considered adding door protectors, 17" alloys and fog lights to my SE but on seeing the prices decided not to bother. Not because I couldn't afford but as I thought the price was set high. I may add the foglights in time but still feel most items on Honda's "extras" list are overpriced.

Here in Finland, I paid €400 for the blue ambient footwell lights, and €1260 for the reverse camera. Yes, I found the extras a tad pricey. I doubt their actual cost, installation included, is more than 20% of the money I paid.
€1200 for the winter tyres (alloys included) was pretty reasonable, though. |

Its a pity theres nothing we can really do about it, I doubt Honda would listen. John Pease seem to offer good value but they'e the wrong side of the Irish sea for me. Its just frustrating.

Yer way to dear its like walking into a merc dealer a friend of mine was after a well speced c class and was shocked that the bill would be just over £50k ,also lower down the price range, 2 years ago i went to ford to test the new forus titaium sport and to get all the bits like upto civic stanards was £20k i cofted and walked out so on the whole i think most makers are to dear , and before u say vag are cheap on extras they are because you pay for them with the car a good friend of mine just got a golf gt tdi 4 montion, should be £19,950 then you add sat nav blue touth dual zone ac lether seat etc your on £24k he says , so all of the makers are too dear , looking at golf , forus , 350z lot missing from civic spec for mid £20ks ,audi etc i think we done quite well for our £18k not got everything but best for £18k with same reiablie that we hope we will get.(lots of hassle with bits on golf forus toyotas at the mowment to so were not alone could be worst could have dealers like us pug drivers had to deal with

'tis a fab motor to start with, and I found that the prices/spec compared well to the opposition.
They'll always be someone who want to jazz up their motor a little more and Honda are there to help (and to increase their income) If you want cheaper 'extras' try E bay or Halfords and you'll save a pretty penny! But if you want a pretty Honda stick with the pricey bits from local dealer! "Why is 'abreviation' such a long word?" Charles H. |

About the footwell lights then, hardly worth the €400 (though they are cool!), can you actually just buy a couple of bulbs and stick them into place - or does it require some special wirings and/or digging into the dash and/or adjusting the onboard computer's settings through some super secret menu?

They ARE expensive.....I've got them - I wasn't forced to buy them. If you're thinking expensive then I've just spent £20,000 buying mine and for £2000 I could have got a second hand Lexus, I had the choice. For £10 i bought 2 LED lights which plug into the cigarette lighter and can be struck wherever you want. Two separate leads which i used to put one in each footwell, the wires i tucked away under the dash at the bottom of the centre console. True maybe not quite as good as Hondas version, but they are bright, look cool and cost 20 times less!

Some (all) of the accessories are ridiculously over priced and thats just not Honda. My experiences in the past are that once the car has been out for about a year or so the after market companies start to make some of these accessories and undercut the manufacturers one's. The ipod connection (my opinion) will no doubt be one of the first.
