internet or dealer dilemma
I went to my local Honda dealer today and they have said they would get to within £300 of the Drivethedeal price. Which i think is pretty good for a dealer i think?? They were very friendly and let me test drive the car for an hour by myself. I am thinking maybe it would be best to pay the extra £300 but knowing that im getting the car from a local dealer instead of from somewhere anywhere in the country.
My only problem is that they would only do it on condition that i order a colour that they can get hold of this year. Which is vivid blue or blueish silver. Im not keen on blueish silver but i have to say i do like the vivid blue but would have liked to see the bronze pearl. But then if i get the vivid blue i will get the car pretty quickly as long as they stick to there word!!! Just wondering what others would do? Save £300 but get it off the net from a reputable company or pay the extra £300 but know where your getting it from etc etc etc. |

Dealer
Don't know if this helps or not but I am guessing your local dealer is Horizon if your in Bournemouth. I had an older civic for 5 years supplied new by them and I could not fault them for after-sales service, that was a few years ago now as I changed jobs and have had a Megane for the last few years. I am hoping they are still as good as fingers crossed the boss is going to ok a civic for me early next year and Horizon will be my 1st choice and I would pay the £300 extra for peace of mind.

My parents bought a car from them and had very good service. So ive pretty much made my mind up to go with them and have the peace of mind. Also i feel should i get any probs then it will be easier taking it back to the place that supplied it. |

I would rather buy it from a place i can actually go and visit and chat to the people there. At the end of the day im paying serious money so an extra £300 for that peace of mind is not really an issue. I do like that vivid blue alot and is one of the colours i wanted. Its just that i would have liked to see one in deep bronze. But im sure i will be delighted with the blue and will be easier to keep clean as well. |

The bronze is a gorgeous colour mate, i would seriously try to haggle a bit more, i got the dealer to drop 2k off the deposit they wanted!!! if they want you to buy that car they will do whatever it takes!! you say you are happy with the blue but are you just saying that to convince yourself so get the car asap? might be worth hanging on to try and get a better deal for the colour you want.

this in itself has got be to be worth £300
when do they need to know by? Have you got time to track down a Bronze S in the flesh, just to put your mind at rest? It would be gutting to get yours, then see one next day and kick yourself... But on the other hand, you may well see it, and prefer the Blue anyway choices choices... |

I dont feel i should be forced into having to rush my decision and maybe kick myself at a later date. I might tell them if they want my business then there going to have to wait a couple of weeks. Im sure it wont make any difference to them and they were saying how there desperate to get as many cars sold before christmas. the usual story. But the problem is they dont have a bronze pearl one in before xmas but to be honest if another dealer offers the same deal then they will get the business. |

I don't see your problem here - do you want to save £300 or not? Whatever dealer you buy from, it's still an authorised Honda dealer, just like when you service your car at ANY Honda dealer or have warranty work done at ANY Honda dealer, it's still an authorised Honda dealer, so you have the same come backs if anything is not correct. It is more convenient to buy from your local dealer but that is all! Is that worth £300? |

Nice to hear from you earlier, i do understand your dilema, however, pop in next week as discussed and see the bronze pearl. I also have the Vivid Blue 1.8 here which was lent to Basegreen, and I have a 1.4 in Blueish Silver, we can line them all up for you this should help your dilema.

You have a bronze pearl? Where? (I did ask if you were around yesterday!).
Yesterday there was a red 5door and (what I thought was) a black 3door in the showroom, with the blue "basegreen tested" 3door outside. Maybe the lighting in the showroom doesn't show the bronze at its best? I personally like the style and flexibility of the 5 door better, however the seats in the 3door are nicer. Terry |

i would highly recommend a gander at the bronze, it is a stunning colour and suits the trims alot better than the blue.
