Colours Unavailable

Hi

My dealer has just told me my colour choice (Milano Red) will not be coming in to the Country (Ireland).

He has offered me Galaxy Grey or Champagne which I personally dislike.

My gut reaction is that he is trying to sell off cars that he knows are coming in first before allowing customers to specify their exact order.

Anyone know is this is a dealer ploy?

Just had a call back from the dealer, Red is a no no which is a shame but he can get NHB which was kind of a joint first choice for me anyway.

Now to decide between black or ivory leather. I do have 2 small children so I guess black leather would be easier to keep clean - but would the inside be too dark?????

Seems strange then that Honda.ie lists Milano Red as a no cost option, with the other metallic/pearl effect choices listed at 375 EUR.

If it's any consolation Champagne actually looks pretty good in the flesh, although I'd still go for the NHB ahead of it.

As for the children, well, don't forget the Civic has quite small rear windows, so the combination of that with a dark black interior might make it feel a bit gloomy/claustrophobic. Then again, they'll probably be more interested in looking at all the gizmos!!

I'm going to go with NHB with Ivory I think. Mrs Spud has the hump now though as she wants red and nothing else will do.

Ah well can't complain too much - as the NHB does look the business too!
Apart from the fact he won't get the car in until March!!!

Go with ivory, Black and black make it too dark inside; it gets worse if you don't have the glass roof option.

What difference does the colour of the paint make to the amount of light inside?

I have a black with black combi, and even with the roof blinds closed, it is no darker than any other inside....

I have never seen the ivory interior in the flesh, but you are brave getting it with children!

Actually, the difference is in the personal tastes... What we are all writing here, except for definitions like 2x2=4, are all our personal opinions (and advices if made..)
I even had known a friend of mine, painted his room walls all black! Now I wouldn't live there but he did.. His taste.. I cannot comment that he was wrong, but simply respect his taste.
Such is our car interior taste situation too. That was my opinion, and I would not buy the car but wait, if it came with black interior.
But; due to the nature of colours, light ones reflect light more than the dark ones; so, effectively, end up with a more lighted atmosphere around. At least, I feel so...

And as for children, we have only one daughter 20-yrs. of age so I don't need to worry about the risk of dirtying the seats when she gets in--only the mud on her boots but she keeps them on the floor!

Luckily most of the time my kids would be in Mrs Spuds car apart from weekends and holidays, so at least they can't mess the car as much as they do hers!

Those pesky crumbs and crisps get everywhere!

I would have thought Black would show messy fingerprints/ grease etc more than anything.

If you go for NHB - get the Transform Dark Red Leather

I'm getting a royal blue one (hopefully not too much longer to wait) and wanted ivory leather to go with it. Unfortunately I was told it would be a 6 month wait (which then slipped by a month after just a couple of weeks). I was told it wasn't a popular choice so difficult to predict when it would get on the production line. So I changed to black leather instead. I too am a little concerned about the interior darkness issue - hope I don't regret. My main reason for originally specifying ivory was the hope that the contrast between external/internal colour would look good - though I guess that too was a risk without having seen one in the flesh. The white stitching on the black leather is quite appealing though.

As for keeping it clean - my current Alfa has light tan leather (not too different to the ivory) and it's dead easy to keep clean - much easier than a cloth interior if you have to deal with food, puke, mud etc from the nippers. Leather is pretty easy to keep clean generally.

Good luck anyway with whatever you choose.

Sounds like a case for bespoke leather.

Gone and done it now - NHB with Ivory Leather and Sedici 17" alloys.
Should have it Jan or Feb latest.

Funny thing is i'm not excited about it anymore! I dare say this mindset will change as delivery date approaches though!

could the colour thing be linked to the fact it's out of stock at the moment as charley farley states here:
