Taken The Plunge
Went along to Honda Chiswick today and ordered a 2.2 SE in Milano Red. Gave me a good discount on new car but couldn't give much for my seven year old Mercedes A class. Aparently Milano Red is currently out of stock. So delivery date is March 1 at the earliest poss. 1 April at the latest. He said it might have the I-pod link as standard, here's hoping.

I've used Honda Chiswick in the past and they are (in my opinion) the best Honda dealer. They also keep you up to date with the production schedule of the car. Why did you go for a SE, over an EX? |

Hi JPDirect
Purely for financial reasons. I would have loved to have the sat nav and all the toys but my budget wouldn't stretch to an Ex. Also I wanted the Diesel engine so the SE was the best option for me. |

I couldn't wait so long, you people are amazingly patient! I managed to get my car within 7days of asking for it, took advantage of a cancelled order.

Hi Czechplastik
My last car took 4 months to arrive from Mercedes Benz. So I guess I'm used to it. But I think in the present circumstances with the deficiency in build quality (eg Charles Harding's duster solution for the filler cap), Its now prudent to wait to see if all these problems will be ironed out. So the longer the wait the better. And who knows I might even get a I-Pod connection. |

Yeh i agree with you there Charley, When i bought mine i didn't know Civinfo existed and wasn't aware of any of the issues and problems. Hopefully the wait will be well worth it for you and im sure it will!

I've just ordered a black EX 2.2 diesel, hoping for mid to late Dec delivery.
Just doing a bit of research ready for the collection, I'm moving from a Peugeot 307CC which has been the worst car I have ever owned. Role on my new Civic, and hopefully put enjoyment back into motoring once again. |

I think all your execpted owners will be very happy with your new cars , hopefuly if u have problem the dealer sounds like they sort things out farly soon, unlike the pug dealer were your have to dang your head on the wall for hours before you get anywere.
hi Neilfs from one very disapoint 307 owner to another i think you will like your new car , theres a few little niggles that might annoy you on the civic but if your like me im just happy if my car starts get to my destaion and them home again , after having 6 breakdowns in 2 years 4 in the night time hours on the side of the road etc , im maybe more happy to put up with a niggle or two than someone thats had a good last car. Today for the first time my fuel flap wont open but after 2-3 more pulls it opened, i didnt even motter because when you been stainred in the pouriung rain at 3am on a frosty night with a major breakdown a sticking fuel flap is alot let seroius . have fun enjoy it just try to think half full not half empty. A czech what do u call dispointed ??? how far do we have to have gone to see you eat your trousers ??? Last edited by IWANTACIVIC; 19th November 2006 at 03:42. |

Did anybody tried this solution ? Please Help !!! |

Charley F, in the latest Honda mag I got last week, it said that the ipod connection will be put into 'some' models...did not say which model though.

Thanks guys, I pick my new car up in a week.
My Peugeot however which is being traded in may delay my collection of the new car, because - funnily - it's at a Peugeot dealer being fixed, it's been there since the 8th November!!! If your friends, family or anyone ever says they're thinking of a Peugeot, great car, nice to drive, great looks, but if or when it goes wrong, don't expect any help - their customer relations are the most awful bunch of people you could ever deal with. I already know a couple of Honda owners, and even the guys at my local Peugeot garage (who are really a great bunch of people, it's Peugeot UK I have a problem with) think I've made the best choice in getting a Honda! |

Did you use the car? I think if I had simply admired the looks of my Peugeot and not used it, it would have been reliable, but after the initial 20,000 miles it went from reasonable to completely unreliable. It now has 74,600 on the clock and Peugeot seem to get more time with my car than I do. |
