Honda on its chin???

Right so I don't even own a motor yet and I have the audacity to start new threads......
8
Anyway, after the disappointment of the motor I had set my dreams on falling through (due to it being a pile of crap) I went looking round a local industrial estate where I believed there to be a Honda used outlet.

I couldn't find the outlet so I popped into a nearby VDUB garage to ask where the Honda garage was and if they had any cheap Scirocco's floating about

The fella couldn't help me on the Scirocco front but he did tell me that the second hand value of the Honda brand has plummeted in recent months and weeks due to the fact that Honda are up the creak big time financially. He proceeded to tell me how the top price he could offer on a fully spec'd Type R only 6 months old on a 6 month old similarly spec'd Scirocco would only be 10 grand.

So I don't know if this fella is talking utter b*llox but he had no reason to lie to me as he didn't have a car to sell me and was extremely helpfully in giving me other places to try.

I imagine there are people on here who work for Honda and may be able to shed some light on this situation.

Thanks.

P.

It could be his way of telling you not to buy a Honda, but to buy a VW, of course we all know it's the other way round

He's talking complete "male testicular devices" ...

As already pointed out, used Civics are becoming hard to find ... unlike VAG products, which are approx. 13 to a penny ...

The value of used Hondas has been steadily going up over the last few months (as others have said due to lack of supply).

I've noticed this as well. Unfortunately, I noticed too late and I ended up paying a bit more for my Type S.

Which just goes to prove that I shouldn't be using Parkers as a guide, they have been steadily dropping on there.

I think the statement about getting you to by VW instead of Honda is probably the closest to the truth.

Why would a VDUB employee/dealer/worker go to that much hassle anyway.

Before you start throwing acusations about I'd suggest you do your homework next time. Check my posts for instance, its not linke I am a fly by night ***.

I am sorry to say that many people dont read threads thouroughly enough before posting.
Whilst I can sympathise with your frustration, you must appreciate that rival dealers will always fight their own corner and after a few 'chinese whispers' all sorts gets said...sometomes inflated and sometimes, untrue.
Good luck finding a car to suit your needs...lets hope its a Civic

I wasn't aiming at you but the VW dealer who was presumably trying to influence your purchasing decision.

The last time we had this (as posted) was proved to have come from a Ford linked website.
