I agree to a point, it all depends on how many times you've already driven over to the dealership, especially last week, 1 hour later in to work than I should have been, extra fuel used to get there just so they could open the filler cap for me to fill it up. Not to mention that last time it was in for 4 days and I got it back off them and had to fill it up almost immediately....

What gets me is it's still called a COURTESY car, yet how come with all this warranty/fault work I'm the one made to look and feel like it's all my fault that I need to use one of their cars???!!! That's how it feels and it shouldn't if you ask me.

I was offered a 'courtesy' car from my Stealer and was informed that the 'loan' slots were exactly 24 hours each.

I was offered 2 'slots' so they could complete their tasks.

I returned the car on time, but four hours later the Car Rental Co. rang me up accusing me of stealing their car and that they were going to charge me for the extra slot that I had taken, and the 2 slots that were orginally supplied free.

I seems as though the Stealer had not informed the rental co. that I had already returned the car.

Had a nice friendly conversation with the Rental Co manager and got it sorted.

So much for their P.R.! - either Rental or Stealer.

Just returned the "COURTESY" car tonight, I've only done 20 miles in it since Monday morning and they try and charge me 4 pound something! I point blank refused to pay it.

...and I don't feel good or clever about doing that to them, it's not their fault, IT IS HONDA'S FAULT and Honda should be paying, not ME or the dealership.

It leaves a sour taste and you know that next time you go in there they'll be saying "oh no not him again..."

The Service Manager and Assistant Manager have done a good job to be honest with sorting most things out, yet I look like the nasty customer just for standing up to some ridiculous policy. If I'd done 50 or 100+ miles in the last 2 days in the car then yes I should pay towards the fuel, but 20 miles which is simply to and from the dealership with my office in the middle of the journey, I'm using the bare minimum I can just to cover the INCONVENIENCE of more warranty work.

I'm not happy that I have to leave the dealership on such a sour note, especially when they've done a good job of fixing my car issues.

Especially as 20 miles is about half a gallon - or £2.
and one would hope that wear and tear on the Civic doesn't equate to £1 per 10 miles... (although, actually... I guess it probably does )

However, whilst £4 is £4 is £4, and lots of little £4s do add up...
You would rather hope that the dealership would be willing to invest £4s worth of goodwill into the relationship

(but yes, if it's warrenty work, they should be able to get this back from Honda)
