30th December

After a few weeks of looking, and anguish at spending loads of my hard earnt money, I have taken the plunge and signed for a 3 month old 2.2 CDTi ES demonstrator in Champagne Silver, to collect on 30th December 2006.

Champagne seems to be the least popular colour, I have heard it supposedly appeals to the more mature buyers!
Colour choice was my wifes, she doesn't drive, so as it is "our" car I thought I had better let her have some say! Finding the colour/trim was difficult, not many around.

My final negotiation points were:
Happiness 5 year service (for £500) - failed (can have for £950, current retail prices for 5 services is nearly £1200)
Spare wheel - Failed (dealer supposedly pays almost retail),
Mats - got,
Supaguard - Failed. (It was offered at £200 instead of £300, which I think is still too much)
Scale model - Got. Dealer didn't know it was available. I said I'd heard it was only available in Milano as an ES (thanks to Civinfo), he checked and found what I said was true and agreed. I doubt he has sealed many deals with a model!
Keep the 6 months tax on my current car.

I couldn't quite get down to my target, but got quite close. I enjoyed the "chase" though.

Now where is that checklist?

What better way can there possibly be than to start the new year off with a super Civic. A very Happy New Year to you. Have fun.
