I was not offered it either, although to be fair I did tell the dealer that I will only be keeping the car for 3 years which = 2 services.
Probably cheaper to pay individually. |

Like others here, I was told that the diesel 5-year service thing was £850 and had only just been introduced.
What I thought was very fair was the sales chap then cautioned me not to take it up if I didn't plan on keeping the car for the full five years as it didn't add value significantly to the resale price and the financial advantage came in the later years. I asked what the cost of servicing for five years would be on per-service basis and was told about £1200-£1400 - even allowing for a pinch of salt this seemed a reasonable deal to me, especially as over five years inflation would play a part in servicing costs too. Just as a reality check, at c.70,000 miles the A4 diesel I currently drive had a service which included the requirement to change the cam belt. Cost £950! (At 90,000 miles it needed a new gearbox, but that's another story). Anthony. |

Not even picked my Civic up yet but I was given a sheet by my dealer with service costs for the next 5 years including what is done in each one and how much labour time is spent.
If its of interest I will post them up here |

Ok, these are the numbers given to me for a Civic 2.2 diesel....(all are fully inclusive)
1yr 12500m = £140 (0.8hrs - oil and filter, sump washer) 2yr 25000m = £275 (1.9hrs - oil and filter, sump, pollen, air and fuel filter) 3yr 37500m = £175 (1.5hrs - oil and filter, sump washer and brake fluid) 4yr 50000m = £275 (1.9hrs - oil and filter, sump, air, pollen and fuel filter) 5yr 62500m = £185 (1.2hrs - oil and filter, sump washer and anti-freeze) 6yr 75000m = £340 (2.5hrs - oil and filter, sump, gear oil, air, fuel and pollen, brake fluid) 7yr 87500m = £140 (0.8hrs - oil and filter, sump washer) 8yr 100000m = £335 (2.4hrs - oil and filter, sump, fuel, pollen, air filter, antifreeze) It also lists some repair costs on Honda Happiness Front Brake Pads = £85 (0.7hrs) Rear Brake pads = £85 (0.7hrs) Front Brake Pads and Discs = £215 (1.0hrs) Battery = £75 (0.2hrs) Wiper Blades (each) = £10 (0.0hrs) Safety Check = £14 (0.2hrs) 4 Wheel Alignment = £50 (0.7hrs) Renew Antifreeze = £45 (0.4hrs) Oil and Filter Change = £45 (0.3hrs) Code Key (charge key extra) = £22 (0.3hrs) Centre Exhaust = £125 (0.7hrs) Rear Exchause = £125 (0.5hrs) Not sure if the above prices are across the board or just for Lincolnshire Honda, but hopefully they will be vaguely useful.... Don't forget that those are the diesel prices and probably reflect the increased Honda Happiness 5 year deal for them.
Anyone got similar for the 1.8 ? |
