Unhappy Delivery Date Change

Just found out today, from my dealer, that my delivery date has been put back til 4th March... Having read some of the other posts, I guess this is pretty par for the course and I could be waiting even longer than 4th March.

Almost too much to take!!

Oh dear; how frustrating for you. Many of have lived through the same and survived. February is a 'short' month so March will soon be here.

Thanks, mate. I just have this niggling doubt that it'll be put back even further. But as you say, it will be worth the wait...

Mine was put back by 8 weeks and then arrived 5 weeks early so there is light at the end of the tunnel

Hi Lexie Nice to see your local. Sorry your rocket ship delayed Mine too was brought forward. Hope yours is as well. Delighted with mine came 11th December. 1000m and no problems so far - well worth the wait. Is your dealer Horizon Ringwood rd? Found them very good so far.

Shocker

I'll say one thing.. sometimes the dates go out, and come back in again, but there's clearly some issues down in Swindon at the moment..

I did actually here it from a good authority. Someone was nearly 'knocked down' shall we say. The machine in question was something to do with Alignment as I understand it and because it had been modified by Honda the original manufacturer of it won't give any support.

What several dealers told me

When I was looking for mine I was told the delivery times (20 weeks) was down to the model and extra specs (EX with glass roof).

Apparently for the roof variant they need to batch 10 cars in a run. If I chose the same car without the roof it was 6 weeks less.

My car is now arriving something like 3 weeks earlier than estimated. I presume that there has been a few orders placed for the EX with glass roof and so the production run has been brought forward!

May mean they are now realising that a 20 week delay is costing them sales!

We wanted an '07 plate for 1st march as the present civic's road tax expires on 28th February ( although the civic does have a private reg which will be swapped over) I meant to ask the dealer if our car was actually built as it was originally going to another phoenix showroom as a testdrive car but we got it - otherwise we would have been waiting to the 31st march

so to cut long story short - Our car is either sitting down in swindon built
or it is nearly built

well we added Black Leather and I-shift

Although you car is an '07 model mr ed it will be on a 56 plate?
don't ask why (cause I don't have a full answer) with the plate change
so close we decided to wait ( even though our private plate will go on the
car)

Horizon Poole but also great service. Think I may be negotiating with my salesman friend as he was gutted that the date had moved. I had mentioned previously that I quite liked the idea of the blue interior lighting but not the £200 price tag. He advised that blue was nice bit the Type-R is being released with red interior lighting and that we might be able to come to a deal... Watch this space...

PS - thanks for all your lovely comments. It's lovely to be part of a site where everyone is so nice x x x
