Optional boot spoiler on Type-S

I am seriously looking at the Type-S and was wondering if anyone has taken delivery of one with the optional colour coded boot spoiler? If they have could they post up a photo? The brochure doesn't appear to show the boot spoiler on the demo car - the car being black in the first place doesn't help.

Cheers

Ray

Ray, there's a few scattered about in the 'Gallery' section. It works well on all colours (except NHB of course) and a definite 'must have'.

Unfortunately Greenray has a black Civic, so it's a bit of a waste as that area is already black.

Unfortunate for NHB owners but it's a 'must have' for any other colour.

I would recommend the stainless steel door garnish though. Looks ace on the NHB!

I was thinking of them for my car, but same as the spoiler with the NHB, might be too silver!

They are so much better than the standard plastic door treads. I'm pleased every time I open the door.

I liked the pics Terry posted of the Illuminated Door garnish' but unfortunately they're for American models.

Hi Ray,

Believe me, the painted rear spoiler makes rear visability worse than it already is on the Civic. I have one and am toying with the idea of taking it off.

I also think that it spoils the lines of the car.

I think it would look good. It's the quality of Stainless Steel with an etched design, compared to Black Plastic.

I agree - it really is annoying and dangerous. Yesterday I had a biker behind me and I couldn't see him at all - just a strange glow! I'm also going through a claim from Honda due to the fixing clips chipping the paint off the rear pillars!

Thought I'd already replied - must definately be in the twilight zone! Ah found it: Test drive a car with one fitted first - the...

Another car I had with a much bigger wing fitted and a true aerodynamic effect, did not impair vision!

Maybe the Type-R spoiler will be better?

Hi Damian
I've got a NHB and considering the spoiler but now I'm little put off with visibility and whether if it's worth it since being black. If your selling yours, I'm interested.

My Type S GT, had a colour coded spoiler already on it.
Would someone please tell me how much I paid for it ( No kidding).
And another thing, - is the type S door cill garnish, self adhesive and if so, will the bl--dy paint or plastic come off, if I have it removed & replaced.

I cannot get over the amount of people complaining about the poor visbility personally I don't have an issue with it - but for those that
do - why did you buy the car if you think this is such a big issue???
you bought the car - live with it !!!

I agree,
The main thing for me is, --"Er Indoors" cannot reverse with it, which means she won't be driving it. .

The spoiler costs somewhere around £250. The door sills are self adhesive but if done correctly shouldn't remove the paint. Use a good remover.
