just phoned up honda to see how much it would be for its 2nd (25,000 mile service) and they quoted £405 and i was wondering if that is the standard price along the country and also i was wondering if the 3rd service will be more than that or cheaper

so if anyone can give me any information on that i would be grateful

The Honda Happiness bit only cost £500 and it's for 5 years servicing.

Couldn't you get that sorted out with your Stealer?

No one ever explained to me about this Honda Happiness when I bought my car, is it something you have to do when you purchase the car?

It seems like a good deal to me and really wish I had it.

Whaaaat £405

That is wrong - who quoted that ( name and shame)

Don't have exact figures but first service is around

£115

Second Service

£ 245

Third Service

£ 200

for the petrol models

the all in scheme was offered but as we change cars every three years
it wasn't worth it

Back in June 2006, Honda Happiness could be bought for a period of time after buying the car, I'm not sure for how long though. I guess it's the same now.

Topcat, Honda Happiness is about servicing the car, sorry to say, nothing else.

I considered (still considering) the servicing deal but being as I only keep a car for 3 years then I reckoned that £500 up front was about the same as the first 3 services, or 2 if I time it right.

@Topcat - normal wear and tear items are not included like brake pads, clutches, tyres etc.

I'm not surprised that the dealers don't advertise the servicing deal because I know they can make more profit from yearly payment over 5 years.

Stratstone Honda in Leeds are doing a servicing package for £399 which covers 3 services. They have throw it onto my deal on a new Type-S as a sweetner, since i do on average 20-25K miles a year that is about 18 months to 2 years free servicing, But even if you are an annual service doing low mileage based on Brodick's figures about it would still save you £150.

The deal was open to existing customers also, so if you have a Stratstone dealer near you try them? They told me it was a long running thing and that you could buy the same again when the first 3 ran out.

Based on the £405 poor panasony has just been quoted i think i got a good deal!!

Remember folks that Panasony has a diesel. The Honda Happiness is not available for the diesel. However, other dealers have quoted significantly less for the major service on the diesel (25k, 50k etc) and it should be nearer £310.

Panasony, I think you need to phone a few other dealers!

Too pricey - or maybe it would too easily highlight the higher servicing cost of the diesels at purchase time!
