re the gater - yes... and no. Theres a thread in here somewhere, detailing exactly what bits you need to do the job properly, but it ends up quite expensive The main problem is attaching the gater at the bottom - on the R, there are a number of small bolts which come up from underneath the facia and into the bottom of the gater. On non-Rs, the holes for these bolts aren't there... |

Didn't like the rubbery feel of the original Honda one so I managed to pick up a chromed and brown metal kind of smooth hook-shaped knob in .......
....wait for it....... ....ALDIs ! Cost = £4.00 |

Hi - just seen your post.
It does sound horrible now that you mention it, but it is quite nice to use. I'll try to get a picture or two tomorrow when Lady Dosser comes home with the car. Probably won't be able to post it until about this time of night since I'll be out at the football in the evening. Cheers, LD |

Okey, dokey - here's yer photie....
I can't quite remember whether a)the sides were originally a solid brown colour which is wearing off to show the copper colour underneath or b) it was always the sort of two-tone finish you see now. Not bad value at £4 either way. The knob is quite short, so gives a good, quick shift and is nice and smooth in the palm of your hand (ooer, missus I'm happy enough with it anyway. gearstick1.jpg gearstick2.jpg Edited to add - GRRRR : my team lost 2-1 in extra time. |

I've just got a brand new original sports gear know (as in the one Pottsy has) of Fleabay! Paid 55 pounds for it. Not hugely cheaper than if I bought it from a dealer (some have got it for about 65 i believe) but hey 'every little counts'. Can't wait for it to arrive.

yes, but my dealership is far enough from my house that the postage is a cost i will gladly live with. And yay for my feedback! I haven't bid on ebay in 2 years and couldn't get my old account to work (forgot the password and failed to retrieve it).

Sorry korky! So you must be the one putting the price up. Hmh... Was sure it would be less than 50 at the start. I did what you normally do. Yes, if i come across another one I will surely let you know. On a good note, I told the seller all about civinfo, and hopefully he will join.
Waran. P.S. I actually told myself i will not buy it if the price goes up more than 50.50! But hey would we all be here if we weren't such suckers to our civics! Last edited by waran; 22nd September 2007 at 15:27. |
