High mileage 'ex' - deal or no deal?

Looking around for a 1.8 'ex' if possible and have been offered one through a dealer for £10999 with 27k on the clock. Test drive went well, inside and out seems fine - just wondering if this is a good, bad or indifferent deal.

Not too bothered about the high mileage as I do an embarrasingly low number of miles at the moment and would be looking to keep it for a few years anyway.

Any advice would be welcome from 'all you in the know'

So pleased I have found this forum - I have learnt a lot in such a little time!

Bargain. 27K is quite a lot for a car that's been on sale for about 15 months, but I am sure most of that would have to have been motorway miles...

27k is nothing really for todays engines. It just means that any teething probs will have been dealt with. That's a great price so see if you can knock some more off and you'll have a super bargain...

Yes, hoping that all the intial problems will have been ironed out - called Honda and there are no recalls outstanding on it...presumably that could mean that there may have been and they have been fixed.

Although I would dearly love to get some more off the price, I honestly don't think there is anymore give and don't want to lose it for a few pennies more!

Thanks guys

Lof of miles, but the price isn't too bad, as people say any faults should be well sorted by now. See how far you can push it and good luck! Let us know!

Going for it!

Ok, finally decided to put a deposit down.....they had dropped £800 off the screen price and offered me an acceptable part-ex (same as other dealers) so it was pushing it for any more.

Due to collect next week-end and can't wait....might take a while to get back and introduce myself properly as it might be hard getting out of the cockpit

Feel as though Honda should offer a 'tutorial' to new owners to get the most out of their cars - no doubt the manual will be well thumbed within a week.

Thanks for your help guys and gals!
