Which one should I choose?

Hi,

I am looking forward in buying a used Civic and there are two options on my shortlist. I would really appreciate advice on which one to choose.

THIS...
- 1.8i sport
- 11,000 km
- 24,000 €
- Registration 8/2006
- Cruise Control
- Leather steering wheel
- bench warmers
- the bottom of the car has been treated against corrosion.
- fog lights
The picture of the car is here:
http://www.nettiauto.com/viewVehicle...&search=Hae&PN[0]=simp_search&PL[0]=simpleSearch.php?id_vehicle_type=@id_make=29@id_m odel=364@id_car_type=@id_fuel_type=@id_gear_type=@ pfrom=@pto=@yfrom=2005@yto=@search=Hae

OR...
- 1.8 comfort
- 8500 km
- 20,000 €
- registration 12/2005
- none of the above extras
The picture of the car is here (or it's not this, but it's exactly same except for the milage):

And of course... money is a big issue, so the question is: is the more expensive one worth it. Both cars are in very good condition.

Might there be any faults of the cheaper one due to it being 1,5 years older? I guess it was one of the very first models that came to Finland.

I really appreciate any advice.

Yours,

Patrik

I'd go for the first one Patrick. I think you'll be a lot happier with the car because of the extras offered on there for starters. Also, you have to consider that with the cheaper one being just under a year older than the other one, its a better deal (€4000 = £2700). There isn't too much difference in the mileage so I'd go with the more expensive one.

In the long run, you might find the sport a bit easier to sell on due to the extras it comes with.

Of course, it depends on if you REALLY want the extras on the sport.

Thats just my opinion though.

I would suggest you go for the sport, yes it's a little more expensive, but you have listed both so I'm surmising that you can stretch to it. If you go for the cheaper option you may regret not having the extras. It all depends on what meets your needs, everyone has different requirements from a car.

Cruice control

Hi,

Thank you for your opinions! (More still welcome.)

I just found a good looking cruice control that costs 560€ (including the assembly).
http://www.one-pro.fi/tuotteet/gold_...pikaesite.html

So now I could have the cheaper one with cruise for 20,560€. The other extras are not so valuable to me.

But might the 12/2005 registered model still have some problems due to it being early out from the factory?

Hi Patrik

It really depends on what you want to spend. If you don't want the alloys and leather steering wheel etc I would suggest you go for the comfort version. The handling will be just as good as will the performance. When I bought mine it was toss up between a sport version or a SE. I decided on a SE as wanted the diesel engine, so it was the cheaper option but the handling was still great.
