Honda Assistance / AA cover

I'm looking to but a 2.2EX in June (ish). The local Lookers (Nottingham) price includes 3 years AA cover.
Is this something that comes with every Civic or is it a specific dealer offer? Ie the dealer is trying to up the price (above List) and claim their price includes a tank of fuel (part of list) superguard (rip off no thanks) mats and flaps ( should be free if haggle well!) and the AA cover.

My last car (Vauxhall) came with 3 years Vauxhall assistance (AA cover) so I'm trying not to get taken for a ride...( )when it comes to gettting AA / Honda assistance.
I'd like to try and haggle round £800 off as I think this should be achievable and get free mats and flaps but not sure about the AA

Please help / advise!!

Many thanks

Chris

A had to call Honda Assistance when my battery went flat the other day.

The AA were there in 15 mins.

The AA cover is part of the new sales deal you get.

Must admit I've found nothing about expecting replies from Honda C.S. in the pre sales blurb.

"If not now, when?"

Just so people are aware as I just had my RAC renewal figure of 148 pounds - a NEW customer with the RAC can get it online for 110.99 so as usual someone like me who has been with the RAC for 7 years is ripped off.

There is an article over on the great website moneysavingexpert.com all about Breakdown cover and their recommendation is http://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/

32 pounds per year (your wife/spouse covered as well) for the same level of cover - just took it out myself

Sorry if I appear a little stupid here - why would you pay for this when it comes with the car as standard? You are covered for the whole of the 3 year warranty period. I was careful to check this with my dealer and it applies to whoever owns the car in the warranty period, not just the first owner. I am officially the 2nd owner of my car, the dealer being the 1st as it was a demo car.

Lippy,

I too belong to the RAC and have done for over 20 years. My membership includes my wife, son and daughter and covers us for rescue and recovery individually in any vehicle we travel in, even as a passenger.

If I had a problem with the Civic I'd call the AA. The RAC is a kind of "catch all" insurance.

Mike.

I used to belong to the RAC, under my Toyota club membership which I had to pay for, but wasn't for any vehicle. In all my 29 years of driving I have never had to call out AA/RAC/Greenflag that I belonged to at the time. Maybe I've been lucky, but then again, my hubbie is/was very good at keeping cars running smoothly - and no, he's not a mechanic, he's a roofer, but used to do things himself years ago - oil changes, brakes etc - and I used to help. However these days it's in the lap of the gods what with computers etc but I do take your point. When the car is out of warranty then I will pay for AA/RAC etc!!

I didn't know the Civic was covered by the AA, and renewed my RAC membership 5 weeks before picking up the civic.

I called the RAC and said that I had three year cover with the AA and they froze my membership for three years which I thought was really good service. When the three years are up with the AA I have a years RAC waiting for me

The Civic's AA Cover extends to Europe, details in Service Book. See http://www.ciao.co.uk/AA__Review_5557472
