I arranged the 7 day insurance this morning and
the girl on the end of the phone was very polite and efficient and I have the 7 day cover but the quote for 12 months was a joke ( a joke I tell you) £300 + more than my current insurance company want |

I didn't bother with the 7 day cover. I am with Swiftcover who are interent only based. The new insurance certificate was emailed to me. I just forwarded a copy to the dealer.

Arranged my 7 day cover yesterday. Very easy and pleasant staff but lots of questions. Quote was double what Tesco's car insurance was, which I also arranged very easily. Free cover useful to get the paper work done before I get to the stealer on Saturday.

Is it OK to have your proper insurance starting on the same date as the free 7 day insurance? I.e. Have two sets of insurance cover for that 7 day period?
I presume this shouldn't be a problem, as only one would be claimed off in the event of an accident. I only wanted the 7 day insurance for the stealer to sort Tax and would prefer to be relying on my full cover right from the start. |

I can't see it as being a problem
Though I'd consider the possiblity of organising starting your real one 7 days later Purely on the grounds of 'why pay for it when you don't need it' though obviously check that the Free Honda one covers you with as much cover as you need, and you don't get locked into it in the event of a claim in that 7 days. actually - sounds like a lot of work for the sake of deferring your real cover for a week I'd just go with both |
