honest dealerships

am i asking too much , took my car in last week for rear parking sensors fitted and when the car was handed over i noticed a bit of damage under one of the sensors, looks like its been done when it was drilled , my main complaint is that they did not tell me it had been done, anybody can make a mistake and i would have more confidence in them if they had owned up to the damage , but they were hoping i would drive away and not see it . so had to go back in and complain and right away the technician said it was damaged and they will fix it , am i being naive to think they should have owned up in the first place.

I think you have a point here. As you say anyone can make a mistake, certainly its not a major one so I'm surprised they didn't hold the hands up. Thats just the nature of the beast, I'm glad they are accepting responsibility and are going to fix it for you. Sort of a happy ending

No, if they knew the damage was there they should have informed you before handing the car back. If they knew about the damage and chose not to tell you then you have good grounds to be displeased with them.

Speaking generically, it strikes me as remarkable how someone might think damage to a nearly new car wouldn't be spotted by its owner very soon.

It doesnt surprise me, when my car came back from the insurance approved bodyshop a couple of weeks ago, they had scratched the bumper and hadnt fixed the damage to the o/s rear panel!! How could they have not noticed that when it was there for those repairs
