Options Is there a list of updates/refinements anywhere?

I may have missed something obvious, but as I'm looking at 2nd hand (probably) EXs I wondered if there was a list somewhere of updates as they've happened, either by model year or registration (or something).

For example if they changed a mechanism, or altered the basic spec etc during the production cycle. So potential buyers could know that an 05 would have different basic components to a 56, to an 07 etc?

for ex.:
MY06 starts around 2005 sept-oct.

Do you know the date? For example is it cars build September onwards, or October onwards? Looks like one car I'm considering may be borderline 06-07?

How do you know which model year you have? Check the VIN of the car!

- MY 2006 : SHHFK37606U000258
- MY 2007 : SHHFK37607U000258

(I would recommend to buy a MY07

... the newer the better!)

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.

I have been given a delivery of end of April, how easy is it to check the year before you take collection of the car, as you do hear stories of new cars sitting in fields for up to 6 months?

That's very helpful when I'm browsing ads in papers and online.

I'm just used to model years changing on a month (start of), eg cars produced September 2005 onwards being '06, September 2006 being 07 and so on.

I had no idea some manufacturers were more vague with the change over than others.

ohhh online browsing... sorry

but if you look at them at the dealers it helps a lot!
or you can call the seller to tell you the first few char.s of the VIN

(I don't think anybody knows it exactly when the MY starts... we can only guess... or check the VIN

)

My car was registered in September 06, and it is an 06 version.
I doubt there would be any Civics sitting in a field, Honda can sell every one they build almost immediately.

Also, on the original question, I guess there's no list available somewhere to us with model year changes/upgrades etc? Like a new Civic timeline?

If you don't know the answer, it is not a daft question!

It seems the only changes is to the software....the 07 models can't be put into auto door lock mode like the 06.
