Edinburgh / West Lothian Dealer Recommendation
I am moving soon from South Manchester to Livingston area. Can any one recommend a Honda dealer in this area for servicing, etc. I know there are two dealers in Edinburgh and one in Grangemouth any one got any experience of these dealers?

Although a bit of a trek from Livingston (used to live in L Village...) there's a couple of recommendations here:

I got my company car through Chathams (Sighthill, Edinburgh) and I have been pretty happy with them. Sales Manager there took time to let me have decent (2 hrs solo) test drive of both 1.4 and 1.8 models, even tho I was not retail customer. Pre-delivery run through was very comprehensive, and not rushed at all. Recently worried bout 'burning smell' from dash, took it in. Service manage took time personally to explain it something to do with laquer finish. Dunno, but seems feasible. Gave me free goody bag of oil too lol. Can recommend them.

We first saw the civic at Chatham's in Abbeyhill, Edinburgh and had to book a test drive. We had an unaccompanied test drive, there was no push from the salesman (Kevin Nangle) and they said they would match any offer from another dealership.
We bought our civic from Brown Brother's in Peebles. Again, no pushy salesman, and we got a test drive without booking (also unaccompanied). It would have been longer had there been more fuel and the car and had it not been closer to closing. Our salesman, Brian Leavy, was very nice and after I had a bit of a wobbly over our parking sensors he gave us a free set of car mats. No great amount of haggling (but that was in part down to us), but we were pleased with the trade-in offered against our old car. Brown Brothers had apparently come top in a poll of service (no idea who asked and what it was for, might have been made up for all we know). I politely made it clear I had been somewhat "vocal" with our previous dealership, but to be fair, I'm hoping not to need that attitude with them. Last edited by TopTrumps; 9th April 2007 at 19:17.
