Option? GT or 18s
Hi Everyone.
I about to place an order for a bronze 1.8 type-S, but I can't decide on the detail! I'd like some opinions from you on (1)the GT pack (nice glass roof!), and (2)the wheel upgrade (storm are the way forward!). I can go with one or the other (unfortunately not both). Any comments would be gratefully received. Cheers M |

Go for the GT - definitely.
Glass roof is great - lets in loads of light when blinds are open Dual Zone Climate Control - stops the arguments! Cruise Control - Never realised how much I would use this, and helps stop me from speeding. Front Foglights - I think they improve the look of the car Personally I like the standard 17s on the Type S - Had a demo in a Type S with 18" Blades and whilst they looked great, the ride was a bit worse. |

Got the GT with the only extra being the bluetooth and city pack out of necessity, the only thing I think is missing is a ipod connector (working on it as I write this).
Bigger wheels make very little difference to the ride just look better. For me this is a good combination but it's really a matter of personal preference! |

Go for the GT the glasroof is something great ! Even my mother will ask that in her next car
You can save money for the future and add after the extra wheels, but you cannot do that the other way... Your dealer will not be able to fix a glassroof on your car |

Ive got the type s non gt and to be honest personally prefer it to the gt, its got very nice extras to the standard car but I didnt really want or need the extras you get with it. Go with your instinct. . Last edited by Alix; 11th April 2007 at 20:21. |

go for the GT. Its great. The extras are well worth the money and make a special car feel even more special. The glass roof is awesome and makes the car feel so much lighter and bigger..
Like been said already you can always save for wheels at a later date although the standard type s wheels are smart. But you cant go and get the Gt spec added at a later date. |

Another vote for the GT.
The glass roof is fantastic. The dual zone climate control saves any arguments. The cruise control is great for the average speed cameras cropping up everywhere now. |

Cheers for all your comments. The GT pack seems to be the winning choice. Not sure I'd use the cruise - never had it before; the roof is definitely the main event of the GT pack. I've seen photos of kerbed 18" alloys, don't look pretty!
I'll let you know which way I go. |

Yeh I'll join everyone else and suggest the GT pack, wheels can be added later on, roof cannot. Plus the storms are ridiculously overpriced!

Another vote for the GT, the glass roof gives such an impression of space. Cruise control, i've never had it until now - brilliant, will never have a car without it again, could well prove to be a licence saver! dual zone climate is not a must have. As for the alloys, start a penny jar and you'll have your choice soon enough!
