I've calmed down quite a bit now to be honest the original salesman was so blooming nice I couldnt have stayed angry with him especially as it's not his fault I wasnt told, it's nice he's keeping his eye on it and bothered to call me back that late in the day (it was gone 7pm). He raised every point I made on here which either he's read my post (LOL) or he can see there was a genuine problem with the new guy taking over.

I have to admit that I was like a kid waiting for Christmas and now it's like I've been told "Christmas has been postponed at the last minute and we can't tell you when it will happen".

The only thing I can do is wait to hear back with a definate day which will no doubt be sprung upon me now. The biggest problem is my parents go on holiday on Saturday and while they're away I along with my brother have to run the family business while trying to keep my own customers happy and sort out everything else so after this week I wont be able to drop everything and get it like I'd hoped

I'd be lying if I said I wasnt really disappointed but it's not the end of the world at least I have this place to follow

Could have been worse.... bought a 18k car 8 weeks ago and have only driven 3 times (on delivery and twice to and from the dealership) otherwise its sat in the garage or at the dealership unable to start! During this time paid for car insurance while the car depreciates and the knowledge that I was so close to having a great car!... anyway 8 weeks and counting and I'm not taking it back now!

Don't worry you should be ok and you won't have to wait too long now!

Obo, when we picked up our car, we were asked to fill in a questionnaire on the dealership's service. I think it was a Honda GB and not Lister's Group survey as we got a call a few weeks after it using the same format, but it's another chance to let them know your feelings on how you've been treated. It's known as the "Excellence" survey, and apparently Honda use this to measure each dealership.

Sorry to hear about the problems Obo, but the dealers should still offer you some sort of goodwill gesture. Weren't people not too long ago being offered £200 worth of accessories? Thats a spare tyre with plenty of change left over to (part)fund some extra toys.

Don't let them get away with this, no matter how nice the salesmen are - it is after all their job to be nice and when they muck up to this extent, they should acknowledge they are wrong (which they have done) and offer some sort of recompense for the trouble they have put you too and also to try and ensure you return as a future customer.

Good luck though, hope it gets sorted soon!

Sorry to hear about your delay.........!
I was hopeing to tell you all about my new TYPE S, which was due April 28th (7 weeks after ordering). Then it got put back to may 23rd, 6 days before I was due to pick it up, yesterday they now tell me June 10th at the earliest 12 weeks after ordering......waht a bummer!, but freebies or canceling and going for am VW are my only options.
Good old Honda!

Tantrum!

So sorry to hear about the delay Obo. I say to you - keep having tantrums on the 'phone and/or in person at the dealers. You can definitely haggle now from a position of strength for that spare wheel/mats/blue footwell lighting etc, etc . Tears work as well you know.

Everyones being really nice on here, it's not like someone's died or anything LOL (not that thats funny) to be honest I was expecting someone to say "it's not the end of the world you're lucky to be getting a new car when there's famine in the world"

The more I've thought about it the more annoyed I am with the salesman I spoke to on the phone who said "it could be in tomorrow or it could be after the 6th who knows" Surely SOMEONE SOMEWHERE knows when it's due and why has it been held up?

Fair enough it's been delayed but no-one can tell me until when, I dont even have a date thats real They said 6th which is Sunday before Bank Holiday Monday so it's gonna be Tuesday innit?

Is it too early to ring Honda and ask if they can give me a solid date?

no, it's not

but you will need some sort of order reference, which only the dealer will be able to give you

I wasn't united with my pilot for 3 weeks after I was registered. My date for arrival kept on being put back. The problem appears to be the logistics (delivery) company. To be fair to the dealers, they would appear to have no more control or information than you or I.

When I did arrive my pilot wrote a firm but fair letter to the dealer mentioning things like lost warranty/road fund tax/interest on payment etc. They have asked if they can send a copy of the letter to Honda (my pilot says yes!!). If we all do this maybe Honda will get the point.

Maybe someone can set up a poll here (my pilot doesn't know how!) to assess how late spacecraft are arriving after the promised date and/or registration.

In the meantime - plan your negotiations for freebies/cash back etc.

Going down to my local Honda dealer tomorrow to place an order for a Type S GT I-CTDI. When I spoke with him on Saturday I explained that I have a trip to Spain booked for the 27th June and that I would like the car delivered by that date in order that I can take it. He assured me that delivery was possible by that time. Now since reading various reports on this forum re delayed delivery I am begining to doubt whether I would get the car in time. I take it that there is very little dealer stock and most production is sold order as it rolls off.

Basically they just can't make them quick enough for the dealers to sell them.

CTSGT - if the dealer is so confident negotiate a good loaner should your new craft not arrive on time. My pilot rode around in a CRV for almost 3 weeks waiting for the logistics people to deliver me.

Date has been put back again to the 10th May now, I always knew the 6th wasnt realistic as it's a Sunday before bank holiday.

Oh great it's midnight and my countdown timer has just told me it's CIVIC DAY *Smiley face* I cancelled it and said "no it bloody aint"
