I can't get over that! 'I will only tell you how much if you agree to buy it before I tell you!' the arrogance of it!

Sorry to hear your having even more hasssle Obo!!! get in there and give them absolute hell sound like a total bunch of t*****s

I would put money on them not doing anything about the reg transfer till your car turned up. the fact they have had enough details to do it for ages does not come into it.

The car arrived and someone open up a book to see who it was for then then found out they needed to do it

Simple really, the others are just standard cars with sportier engines, but CTR is a spacship with the best cockpit in it's class and a bigger warp drive under the bonnet!

Mal, I told them weeks ago that both my parents and a friend had delays due to plate transfers. When I bought this up yesterday I was told that they cannot do the transfer until they have the car as if it went through quickly my car would be illegal as the plate is not correct. My mum had hers sent off 2 weeks in advance by ford so I'm convinced this is not true.

Any info on this from anyone who knows anything about the DVLA would be much appreciated.

Roger I dealt with someone there who's name began with a J he was the one who said "who knows" when I asked when the car was likely to be in!

Hellfire and damnation.

Oh Obo, I'm so sorry. As they say in Italy, paziensa. The private number is an added complication. I had a private reg on an Alfa Romeo 164 3 litre (happy days) and transferred it myself onto the next car. Never again. I just let it go two cars ago. Not worth the hassle. The reg spelled my name perfectly too. As luck would have it the first two letters on my new Civ's reg are my initials, so I regard that as a sign that I was meant to have it. Anyway, it looks as if you have reached the end of your tether, praising the Focus ST 170 indeed. You naughty girl! But it's understandable given the lies and incompetence of the dealers (stealers as Charles Harding would say.) The arrival of your Civic is getting closer, so you will have to somehow find more patience from somewhere. You have no choice. But trust me, that car is sooooo worth waiting for.

Romantic, it isnt the delay thats causing the problem

I fully expected the plate to cause a problem I even raised the issue on here, I toldabout 3 people at the dealer that I expected a problem

I am not naive enough to believe that the ETA was set in stone

I AM however utterly disgusted with the fact that I have never been called to tell me the delays, I was promised ONCE again that the car would be ready today or tomorrow so I rang yesterday only to be told by the 3rd salesman to be dealing with my sale now, that he wasnt aware I had been told that PLUS its his day off today!

I'm sick of the whole lot to be honest and I regret not going for another Focus, if I treated my customers like this not only would they tell me where to stick the PC they'd probably come round and do the honors for me SIDEWAYS!

Patience

Obo, once you get the Civic you will (eventually) be able to put this whole sorry episode behind you. And it truly is a sorry episode. You'll have to let things run their course and get on with what you are supposed to be doing. Just be thankful you are a lucky girl and count your blessings. In the meantime we are all rooting for you here on this forum.

Really gutted for you, I can understand how you are feeling

It's bad enough that your Civ is delayed - at least it will turn up eventually.

But the real issue here is the level of care (or more to the point lack of) which the dealer is showing you.

It does not take a great deal of common customer commitment at the dealer to think "hmmmm. this customer has been chasing, and I've got some news. Perhaps it would be a good idea to call them"

Or even
"hmmm. I'm new to this order, it's been passed on to me. Perhaps I should contact the buyer to let them know"

Unfortunately, there is only one lesson to be learnt from this sorry debacle Obo, and I'm fairly sure you've got that

Never, ever, ever, have anything to do with this dealership again once you have the keys in your hand.

Unless it's to write a stinking letter of complaint to them

You've hit the nail on the head TT this is EXACTLY my problem!

The other day when my dad said the 3rd salesman to deal with the sale had not called to introduce himself the manager said "Shaun rang the other day and he was sat next to him" (Shaun being the original salesman). This is the level of customer service I am dealing with it's hilarious!

Bristol Honda have gone some way to redeeming themselves I have been offered the City Pack gratis as a goodwill gesture and they are gonna try and get the DVLA to push things through .... might be tomorrow but might not be until next week but at least I know they are actually concerned with my business. Its not about getting something for nothing or using the situation to my advantage as I'm not that materialistic it's about their customer care levels!

Right I'm off to calm down my customers I have put off today while I waited in for phone calls!

Sounds like a result. Let's hope fitting the City Pack doesn't cause any further delay!

It seems to me that the dealers may have been visiting this site! Slightly better news then Obo. Maybe next week then. Fingers crossed!

I'm not expecting it to come this week now so I can forget about it again now. I'm aiming for next Thursday and if it comes before its a BONUS!

Thats good of them to throw in extras, but if they treat everyone the way they have treated you they must make little money...

I think they must make plenty of money to cover something like a City Pack - basically it's floor mats & some stick on plastic protectors as far as I can tell. Not exactly going to cost much other than the labour to stick it all on & if they have a bloke sat on his arse for half an hour then fitting that'll keep him out of trouble.

£500 extra = happier bunny for minimum dosh.

Result on both sides.

The full city pack is side front & rear protectors floor mats plus parking sensors, retail price is £1000 but I would imagine as the monkeyman says it's very little time to fit the stick on bits (which with my bf the door protectors alone are worth their weight in gold) and the markup on it is massive.

I was already getting the mats as part of the original deal but to be honest it's not about what I can or cant get for nothing it's about them aknowledging they are at fault.

Perhaps some people just accept being lied to and not being kept in the loop but I'm not prepared to be treated like that as I wouldnt treat my customers that way!

As of today theyre trying to sort it and I'm now giving them the benefit of the doubt after speaking to the manager I think it will be ok

I would say they are acknowledging a ***** up to throw that lot in.

Big bug bear of mine are liars, especially ones who are being trusted with your cash/order.

It's only right of them to compensate you for your troubles. Hopefully they will think to provide you with spotless service for the remainder of their dealings with you, prompting you to provide glowing updates on them from this point on, otherwise I would expect readers of this thread to avoid them at all costs in future.

From Honda site

I'm more than happy with this pack as the door protectors are absolutely essential with my boyfriend!
