Taking deposits on cars with no believable delivery date; leading customers to believe specific dates; failing to provide an acceptable standard of service. Doesn't sound very legal to me.
No of course it's not legal. I have followed Obo's saga and I feel for her, and yes, I would want to rip their tongue out and more. However Obo's experience will forewarn all of us for future car purchasing. Her ill-treatment will be a lesson to us all. It is an ill wind that blows no-one any good. We live and we learn, and we are certainly learning on this forum.

Come to think of it - There was a new CRV on the forecourt with the words "Immediate Delivery" splashed across it.

When the breif discussion started about buying a new CRV & Civic, the salesmonkey said delivery would be in July!!

Ill find his card and post the fellas name so we can give him a wide berth!

Car not ready wasnt expecting it to be

I will ring the DVLA myself tomorrow and see once again if I cant push it through, the city pack has only just been ordered though so it's not gonna be ready anyway. I dont know whether to get the car and get the city pack fitted later or wait for them to do it so I dont have to go back. I think I'll wait but on the other hand it will give me a few days to check out any faults or problems.

Anyone know how long this is likely to take to obtain and fit? I cant see it being more than a few hours to fit (the parking sensors will probably take a while) and 1 -2 days to get in surely it wont be any longer?

Yup! Shes one cool cat .. uhh dog Actually I just like teasing her and she doesnt seem to care PLUS she's going no-where near the civic for a while ... she has claws teeth & fur!

UPDATE : Just heard from dealer still no news on the plate but it wouldnt matter anyway cos the bloody city pack wont be in until "Tuesday or Wednesday and will have to be fitted". So why the hell they're chasing the DVLA when the car wont be complete is beyond me!

None yet Charles theyre saying the 16th which is tomorrow, the salesman currently dealing with my sale has his day off on Mondays so I wasnt expecting to hear anything yesterday but the city pack is only coming in today or tomorrow.

In a way I hope its not ready today cos I'm waiting in for a delivery so wont be able to get it until it's here, unless I get a neighbour to sit in for it

I'm beyind caring to be honest, my interest level dropped days ago!

Exactly! I cant be bothered to get excited anymore I will be excited when I'm driving it away with no problems or faults *touch wood*
Just checked the DVLA website looks like the plate is still on the ford so it wont be today!

Past caring, I don't believe it.

Now be very careful.

The Civic is like no other car around.

First of all it's not a car it's a spaceship.

It's is so much better than anything else on the road & you'll soon be suffering from that never ending 'Civic Grin'.

Breath deeply, calm down.

Your Civie wont be long. (No longer than mine I expect - 4245mm)

Dear Charles Harding.
I just love your sense of humour in your one-liners. Keep them coming, you are an example to all of us. Well said what you wrote to poor little Obo. Keep her spirits up until the spaceship docks at her home station.

Charles is always a source of a good chuckle... he even has his own thread (albeit a very short one)... not many (if any) of us can boast that claim to fame!

UPDATE : Spoke to the dealer they STILL don't have the parking sensors, they might be in tomorrow and then they can "confirm a delivery date". Apparently the city pack doesnt come as a pack all the bits come separate...

I cannot be bothered to get angry with these jokers anymore I just want my ****ing car and be shot of them for good the incompetence of them is unreal. Theyre still letting me down even now, you'd think they would've tried to get the city pack through as soon as possible to smooth things over with me but no! Once again I'm supposed to be picking it up tomorrow, with no clear idea of when I actually am getting it!

I was gonna chase the DVLA in the morning but theres no point if the garage havent done the car! *SOOOOOO ANGRY*

Obo!

I would point out the Duck Wits that they are giving you something because of the delayed that is likely to cause another delay and if that's the point can you have the reversing cam and skirts too

I stayed quiet earlier cos I was speechless at these arses, but Maldax has made the perfect point. They need to get it right for you to save some face - about time they realised & kissed arse too.

I know, you'd think someone would say look this EX we're waiting for the city pack lets send someone to pick it up or get it couriered here today / tomorrow so that it can be ready when the plate transfer goes thorugh!

I just checked the DVLA site and the plate is no longer registered on the Ford but it's not on the focus either at the moment... I guess it will be ready tomorrow but the parking sensors wont! I'm gonna say "so you're giving me this to keep me sweet, but havent bothered to get it in on time for me to collect on yet another WRONG pickup date!"
