Right now I'm about as p***ed off as I can be. Honda Bristol (Cribbs Causeway) whose praises I have been singing have let me down!
I was told in March the car WOULD be in today 30th April although I'd set my heart on this date I knew it may change from reading on here, however when I didnt hear from them last week I assumed everything was ok and that it was on for today. Two weeks ago I rang the dealer to be told by the guy I dealt with that he is no longer in sales and that my sale had been passed on to someone else, he said for me to take my V5 etc up for the plate transfer and he'd introduce me to my new salesman. Didnt happen as he couldnt find him so I still didnt know who I was dealing with however the original guy said he would keep an eye on it and he'd have me "in the car by the end of the month". I took this with a pinch of salt and still aimed for today. I've heard nothing from them since, today I rang them as I was expecting a call that didnt come and was told that it has an ETA of 6th May...WHY THE **** WAS I NOT TOLD THIS????? Why have I had to ring them to find this out? Had I not rang today would they have called me at all considering I was expecting to pick the car up Wednesday/Thursday? The salesman who it has been passed on to is off today however the original one "has his finger on the pulse" whatever the hell that means, obviously it doesnt mean he will ring me if there's a delay! I didnt speak to him this time but I did let it be known I am absolutely fuming about this as I couldve bought the car closer to home but liked the salesman who is no longer dealing with me and who didnt bother to tell me he no longer was dealing with me. Obviously I'm not stupid enough to believe the date is set in stone however I do expect to be informed when spending nearly 19 grand on a car that the date has been put back and not have to ring them the day its due to be told its not in. Oh and I bet when it does come i they'll **** up the plate transfer too! I dont know whether to cry or break something I really had my heart set on this week since I hadnt heard any different! I wont have it for the bank holiday weekend now Sorry for the long post but I'm really angry and need to get it off my chest Last edited by Obo; 30th April 2007 at 18:28. |

no need to apologise Obo - think everyone in here would be feeling the same way too in your shoes
give em hell, explain all the inconvenience it's caused you and ask them how they expect to retain you custom for future servicing etc. |

Thanks TT! I have told them that I wish I'd bought it closer to home. What wound me up most was the bloke I spoke to kept saying "well I cant comment on that cos I'm not dealing with it!" I am expecting a phonecall in the morning from the salesman, who's head I shall rip off. The bloke I spoke to said "of course it may come in tomorrow who knows?" WHY have these ETA's if they're that flakey?

Really feel for you.....not much else to say
That customer service is just not good enough - you need to push for compensation in the form of freebies. Make sure you find another dealership for your services. and lastly get yourself some chocolate and wine..... |

About a month after I took delivery of my car, Honda UK phoned me to ask if everything was ok. If you get a call from them, thats your chance to give them your thoughts.
If they want to constantly improve, they should welcome your feedback. |

It's only a week, it could've been worse - although that's no consolation whilst you're annoyed. ETA's are, by default, estimated, so there's going to be some movement in it. That the new salesman said he'd get you the car by the end of the month is no great crime, I checked several times after putting the deposit down for updates. On the plus side you've not only got (some, but not a lot as it's only a week out) bargaining power with freebies you'll also now have a May 07 car rather than an April 07 car.
And for the record, my experience with Honda Bristol was (and continues to be) excellent. |

Dealers do seem to be forgetting that people do have other things to organise there could be insurance to sort out and you may have sold your car privately etc etc. It's not rocket science to have some common courtesy and keep you informed

UPDATE :
I'm sure the dealer has seen this cos the original salesman just rang to apologise, I have to say he's a really nice bloke but that doesnt get me my car any quicker. Has said when they get it they will push it through quickly and yes it may be in tomorrow or it may be next week. It's not that it's been put back it's that I havent been told and I had to ring them to find out! |

well fair play to him for doing that
Shame he's been taken off your order I would still push them tomorrow - ultimately if it arrives there next Monday you're still going to be without a Civic until Wednesday. And that's assuming they get the plate transfer sorted out... Phone them tomorrow, and ask for commitment as to exactly how long it will be from when the car arrives there to when you get the keys. And make sure that you specifically mention (again) the plate transfer. If possible, have this conversation with the manager. And then, put it all down in writing, and either send (or if possible, hand deliver) it to them so that there can be no more forgetfullness going on... |

PS - yes, ETA is Estimated.
But it's not unreasonable to expect that on the ETA date someone at the dlrship might not go "hang on, weren't we due a delivery today?" Or more to the point - "Hang on - we're supposed to be delivering a Civic today, shouldn't it have been here last week so we could PDI it?" |

Unfortunately for me the original salesman has been promoted but he is in charge of stock now so will know exactly when the car is in and will keep me informed.
The worst thing was that I wasnt ever told it would be late only it might be sooner than expected. If I'd originally been told it might be put back it wouldnt be so bad I think the biggest problem is that the original salesman probably got the commisson and the one who's dealing with it now doesnt care either way. I am still expecting a call from the new salesman tomorrow as I think he shouldve called to introduce himself when it was first passed to him! This and the fact that I wasnt told is my 2 main gripes obviously I wouldve been disappointed if I'd been told last week but I wouldnt have been as p***ed off as I am today especially as I had to ring them to get a new ETA on the day the car was due! |

At least he's being pleasant and apologetic with you. Sorry you're so angry, was picking up excited vibes from you over the last few days, hopefully you won't have to wait much longer. Chin up girl!
