got told today that my sport 1.8 is going, getting a 2.2 se leather in galaxy tomorrow-ish, but I have had a load of customers cars for the first of september in. They will need PDI first. Also, as anal as it is, I want to give mine my own coat of wax before it goes on the road

ARGH!!! How's THIS for frustration????

Car ordered beginning of August, no delivery date given (it's a lease car via Lombard). After a bit of scouting round myself, I find out I'm probably looking at October before the car.

I settle into a long wait . . .

I decide I want to change the spec of the car, so I ask the person who orders them if that's possible. She, in turn, contacts Lombard, who tell us the dealer has contacted them to say the car should be with them by the end of the week!!

Amazing, thinks I, and get very excited!!

NOW, I get a call to tell me "Ooops, there's been a bit of a mistake, we lost your order and now you're looking at the end of November before you get the car"

If I was buying private, I'd be doing my nut at the dealer!!!! From "next week" to "end of November"!!!!!

Considering cancelling the order now!!!!

When I first looked around the showroom car, I asked about waiting times and was told could be 8 weeks. Went in on 31 March to order one, salesman said he would check on the computer to see what the availability was and he came back saying that the screen indicated that they had a small number left and he had allocated one to me. Picked up my car on 20th April - would have been earlier but for a bank holiday. Very pleased about that! (though not about 2 month waiting time for spare wheel). It reminds me of the time I ordered my 205 GTi in 1988, when I was told it would be 6-8 weeks before delivery. 6 weeks later I got a phone call asking if I had ordered a car as they had found my order form in the desk drawer of my salesman who had left! They said it would take another 6-8 weeks as the order had never moved from the desk! I told them they had the remaining 2 weeks of the original 6-8 to get the car to me or I would have my deposit back. After offering me various other colours or red cars without my options fitted, I got the car I had originally asked for with 1 week of the 6-8 still to go! Happy days

Waited for more than 7 months. Last week was a real hell with the 'car is ready/oops car is not yet ready' situations.

When i finally got int he dealership to pick up the car, i was so impatient that i interrupted the polite employee who was trying to explain all the functions with the 'thank you i'll manage, you can go now'

But all the waiting frustration went away with the first push of the start button. Now there is only smile on my face

Ordered mine in August, told that it's "estimated" at the end of November

And to make matters even worse, I've just been out for a drive in a red 1.8iVTEC iShift, same spec as the one I'm getting - eventually!

Want that one!!

I do get the impression that Honda have been playing catchup for ages and are now slowly breaking the back on it! Before we know it dealers will have something called 'stock' and find your model already built somewhere on the network. I guess thats why most options are dealer fit.

All Just in time for the Type-S demand and then the R

They don't make it easy for themselves do they!

See, I'm LOVING this post - makes me think there's some slim, tiny chance I MAY actually get my car before November!

Well, getting lazy :P
Friend has Fiat Stilo Abarth with semi-auto gear aswell, and frankly - works quite nice.
Unfortunately, as you know, in this area of world it's not possible to test drive a car with I-SHIFT, but if it's as good as Fiat one, it should be good enough for me
Also, went for Executive mostly due to Xenon's, as it wasn't possible to pay extra for Xenons on Sport model.
Due to this, and some other extras I ordered... still waiting for mine.
