Help Problem with dealer - advice needed
Hello
Problem1 Here's the story, just picked up my car and the salesman 1 was off so it was handed over by salesman 2. Asked him about the Supagard and how i should clean it, salesman 2 was surprised and said he'd check. The valet guy said it hadn't been done and i would need to book it in next week when salesman 1 was back. Called Salesman 1 today and he said it had been done when they first got the car even though when i had first checked with him he said they would do it the day before delivery. Problem is is story keeps changing, when i confronted him, now says the car has had two coats of it and it has definately been done and i can't prove otherwise. But the real problem is not whether its been done but that it was the deal clitcher, when he offered to supagard the car FOC, i accepted the deal, if it was already on the car then i feel agrieved that i've been conned and mislead as it was something the car already had. Problem 2 I chose the car because of the color and the 18" Altimo wheels, however the wheels were kerbed and i insisted that the wheels would have to be refurbished. After much negotiations they agreed to do the wheels. I picked up the car and it looks fine, but when i get it home, something ain't right, the car doesn't look the same. Then it dawns on my that the wheels have been refurbished in the wrong finish. Correct me if i'm wrong but the altimo alloys have a kinda polished look to them rather than normal silver sandblast colour. The repairer has refurbished the wheels but in the wrong finish. Informed the dealer i wasn't happy and they have asked me to pop the car back in to look at before decided what they can do. In all honestly not sure what they can do so advice is much appreciated. |

I assume this car is used? Scuffed wheels on a brand new car would surely warrant new wheels.
AFAIR, the wheels are polished, but best wait for a comment from an owner. Attachment 2805 Attachment 2806 Or maybe you have the corrosion problem detailed here: Are Wheels under Warranty |

1. When the car has supaguard it is guaranteed, they put a little sticker in the window of the car and you get a supaguard pack with a Certificate saying it has been treated.
2. Insist the wheels are put right, if they have done them wrong then it is up to them to correct the mistake. Good Luck. |

Refurbished wheels never come back with the same polished effect as new. Why, I don't know, but it's the best way of telling they have been refurbished.
Quite often though the refurbish process includes a far thicker layer of laquer than protects the wheels longer. |

Back from the dealers - at first they tried the fob off, well there's nothing we can do line, said that wasn't acceptable and then sales manager asked me to come into his office
thought it was time to get tough, but he just said no problem we'll swop them with another set, we have an accord outside with the same whelels on. Now im not sure if they are the same offset but he said they were, problem was they had crappy make tires on and 1 wheel was kerbed, he goes 3 out of 4 ain't bad! said it still wasn't good enough and the tires were pants. So he has agreed to get me a set of wheels in the condition i want and also good tires, probably off an ex demo. We have to wait and see |

I assume this is a Honda main dealer? IIRC don't they have a 30-day exchange guarantee whereby if you're not happy with the car you can return it within 30 days and exchange it for another one? I'm sure I had that when I bought my last used Civic in 2003.
