Part exchanged my RAV4 for the civvie but didn't get the price I wanted, but got round this by saying no to a new EX and ES cos the price difference was greater than I wanted. When dealer saw I was ready to walk away they offered me the car I have now - a demo - with 2700 on the clock, carpets, spoiler, mudflaps and accord wheels, at a price I was happy with.
Also part ex'd my focus for the RAV and had to fight to get a reasonale price. Normally part ex as it's more convenient. |

I've just let go a notice that I'm selling a car (Ford Fiest 1.4 16v Zetec, red with sand colored interior, 3 years, only 17.000km) and some of my coworkers deliberately took care of the rest. Sold the car like a week after the initial "rumour" - didn't even got a chance to try the internet

ebay tips
Quote:
If you have patience, get the best part exchange price against your new choice-try more than one dealer to make sure. Also remember, when they come back with a better offer, check if that is actually a discount off their vehicle. If so,that dicount should apply with no p/x. The offer price from the dealer really,is the measure you can allow your car to sell privatley for obviously with some on top for your 'profit'.I would put it on ebay with a buy it now price to allow the buyer to negotiate but you still come away with the above figure. Assuming no one comes in with the buy it now price (5 day listing),wait a few days if someone comes with an offer.Thats quite likely and you won't pay seller's fees as you will have removed it from e bay,If no joy,try once again Cheers Steve |

The reason that I part exchanged my old style Civic for the new one was that my stealer offered me a great price for it when he did not know even when the new one would arrive.
Through that I was able to know right from the start how much I had to nick out of Lady H's handbag to complete the purchase. "Real ale enthusiasts are just like trainspotters really, but drunk!" Charles H. |
