It makes no difference what-so-ever where in the world the car is screwed together, and the nationalities of theose who do the screwing.

It's where the bits come from that make the car up that is the issue most of the time. A classic example is the shocks. Not Honda's fault at all. The faulty shocks were made my a german company.
Alpine make the radio. They are form Japan
The croaky wiper motors/bushes are probaly Bosch.

It is nice to know it is a british car, and we are all a bit proud of our contries.

Still 2 weeks to go until I get mine... *sigh* Didn't really consider where it was built when I ordered it, I just loved the car and was convinced by the test drive. I'm a little nervous though because it will be my very first non-German car and I'm wondering what the build quality will be like in the long run. I've driven a great variety of cars as rentals in my life so far so I do have a bit of experience (generally finding US-built cars the very bottom of the build quality barrel, closely followed by French and Italian ones) , but never with long-term ownership. I'm optimistic though

I've only ever bought british cars:
'92 Rover Metro <blush>
'96 Rover 214Si
'98 Rover 200vi
'98 TVR Chimaera 4.0
'07 Honda Civic 2.2CDTi Sport

Having said that, I would have considered an Audi A3, or Golf this time around.

No offense at all

In fact I'm very happy of my Uk made honda, far more happy than i was with my Peugeot, wich need a visit to the local dealer each time I drove more than 500 km and another every three month, It was also one of the early build 307 (June 2001) so with a lot of niggles...

And Toyota workshop in Valencienne produce a very good car as you said.

Both my previous Hondas were made in the USA. My Fathers is made in Japan. All three of these have been trouble free.

I wish buy British had been considered .... then I would not have a car with faults that at present are still not solved after 4 unscheduled dealer visits - and at present dealer still awaiting a fix from Honda UK.

IF I but another Honda - I will make sure its built somewhere other than the UK.
