Went down to Agnew Honda in Belfast after work this afternoon. As mentioned in another thread I've been worrying about my front suspension/shocks etc which have been making some very unusual noises. I originally tried to get 'Downeys' Honda in Newtownards (where I bought the car) to look at it but they said they couldn't do so until Monday. Despite my protests that the car might try and kill me before then.
Anyhoo, out came the yellow pages and the number for Agnew. Spoke to the service manager, explained my concerns. 'No problem' said he, 'Come on down after work and we'll take a look at it, one of our technicians will go out for a drive with you and pick up on any problems'. 'excellent' said I! Went down after work and spoke to one of the service assistants, took all my details and had a look round the car, asked if he could drive it around the yard. Came back a short time later, said it didn't sound 100% and they would hoist up up and have a look at it. Front shocks are a bit dodgy, need replacing at first service, explains the slightly unusual handling of late. No harm will come to me before the service, checked air pressure etc, hunky dory. I've been looking to top up the oil recently, as mentioned in another thread. I asked him what oil to put in it (best from the horses mouth etc), he said they checked the oil and had put 2litres in already. Apparently mine is thirsty. I asked how much I owed them and was told 'not to worry about it!'. Great! Lots of lovely Type R's and S's about, had a look at the new CR-V whilst they looked at the car. When I got the car back I asked about fitting the rear spoiler to my 5 door. He said the actual part that goes onto the R will not fit the 5 door but Honda have made a pseudo spoiler that fits onto the current 5 door spoiler. It's simply glued in place and they have fitted quite a few already. He will ring me tomorrow with a price inc. painting and fitting. Will also obtain the part number for everyone here Overall I had great service, staff were polite, interested and worked quickly. Pursuaded me to use them when service time comes around! |

CP, sounds like Agnews have rightly impressed, when I was shopping around, Agnews seemed to run a good operation, however when I started to talk money with the salesman, he started the "must talk to my boss" rubbish that most salesman go through. Put me off completley.
It was however excellent service you got when they checked the oil for you. I would however be VERY concerned that since the last time you checked your oil it needed 2 litres! Mine used 3/4 litre in 5000miles, and was about 3/4 of the way down the dipstick. Whilst it probably is not a linear relationship between oil volume and level on dipstick, due to shape of the sump etc, 2 litres added must have meant the level was off the scale, so to speak. I would doubt that you needed 2 litres, however full marks to them for checking and topping up and not charging. Its good to hear of some good Customer Service for a change. How far are you away from your first service, and any ideas how much it will cost? I saw on another thread that the 5 year Happiness deal has been introduced for the Diesels, however only to ones registered after 1st May. I'm going to be talking to my dealer on Monday to see if this is the case. Hope not!. |

Told ya CP! Agnew Honda are great, if anyone is thinking of buying a new, or used for that matter, civic I couldn't recommend them enough, Nigel is the man to speak to madasadad he bent over backwards to make sure I got my car early and that it was 100% perfect. I will be going to them for my next car without a doubt.

Fair 'nuff CP.
I called into Downeys and asked for Civic Diesel oil and they gave me the Castrol 0-30 Long life fully synthetic stuff, in a neat refill pack which velcros to the inside of the boot and contains 2 each of, gloves, dipstick wipe, and refill funnel. Bargain at £11.99 I thought. Did you ever find out what they filled it with, for future reference? |

Year after year Lexus come out top on customer satisfaction. My last car was a Lexus and I can understand why.
It is not difficult to listen to customers and attend to their vehicles properly without any hassle or apparent disinterest. Honda could quite so easily sort out the rogue ones mentioned here and give Lexus some competition. |

when i went to buy my civic i went to agnews on boucher rd, the guy knew i was very interested in getting a typs s gt with a few upgrades ( 18" alloys, typr r grill) again as previoulsy said they guy kept going to speak to his manager about what he could do, the guy done this about 5 times, i got fed up and walked away, they had a type s for a grand more than a typs s gt, does that make sense to anyone?? the best place i went to was saltmarine in dungannon, the guy there michael was very very helpful and he bent over backwards for me, fantastic

I'm a customer of Agnew's also and although we had a slight problem the dealer principle sorted that out to my satisfaction so I couldn't fault them either. I must say though that I find the parts department to be much more helpful and friendly than sales, which is quite ironic to be honest!
Downey's is pretty much on my door step but I got a better deal from Agnew's and I heard Downey's were supposed to be losing their Honda dealership soon Still a very helpful bunch and I call in the odd time for any little things I'm looking for, far handier than travelling up to Belfast all the time! |

i take back what i have said about saltmarine, their service people are fine, but the guy im dealing (michael salt) with regarding my alloys (see my thread) are being a real pain, im getting extremly annoyed at them, they gave me the best price and extras for my civic but the whole aftersales care seems pretty poor, esp from the guy that seems to be part of the owner
