Much difference in the Sport to the EX model?

Is the only difference sat nav,HFT,cruise control and dual climate control?

I can live with out sat nav built in, allready have a TomTom One. I'd pay for the HFT as an option if i got the sport. I would also pay for 18" alloys and the body kit too.

Just trying to save money where i can!

Hi My friend,
Have you added up the options price you mentioned against the cost of EX,
My opinion, the 18" alloys look nice and the body kit maybe a little expensive for cosmetics. However in the long run buying larger rubber for the alloys also adds on £££ to the cost of ownershp.(depending how long you retain the car for that is).

Personally, i can live with the sport Diesel, std car.

ex rocks

I was going to get a port and then looked at the difference

dvd sat nav (approx £500-1200)
dual zone climate ( approx 600)
bluetooth phone (200-300)
aluminium foot rest (40)
Better alarm (??)
Auto wipers (75)
Auto lights (75)
cruise control (200)
electric folding mirrors (125)

those are approx prices from similar cars if you could add it on e.g. astra golf, megane, laguna etc.
Def worth the £1400 more I think.

It used to be even more as got leather steering wheel and front fogs but this is now standard on Sport.

I'm in the opposite position, I do care more from the inside than the outside (I'm driving in, not looking at it ) So I would go for the Ex with the glass roof option.

Me too - I'm a sucker for the toys as I spend my time inside the car.

I think the kit for the money is great value, you may regret long term not going for the extra toys.

Pity, I px'd my 6mth old EX in April to fund my new toy! I think you have made the right decision - the EX is fully-loaded and is excellent value for money.

I have also been looking at both options, but thanks to you all for making my mind up.

EX it will be. I am seeing the dealer on Saturday and hope to place an order ready for the plate change in september.......

The EX is definately worth the extra money I originally was getting an ES with leather but I really wanted HID's & 17" wheels so as I wanted leather the sport was out as an option. The EX was my only option and at only £1200 extra well worth it.

Personally I love it, the sat nav is a bonus, I've never had a problem with the HFT and the voice control which is good IMO if you use the correct commands and speak clearly she understands you everytime and I have a very broad bristolian accent (think Vicki Pollard). I also love the fact that you can have the climate controls and audio on the sat nav screen. Also Dual zone climate is invaluable if you have an awkward partner like mine!

Go for that EX.

Then you've got the Space Ship with all the necessary toys, you can always add more if you wish!

Or get the stealer to throw a few in for good measure!

Just the dash with its screen alone is worth all those extras pennies. (Euros for our continental chums!)

57 plate? I can imagine that already, I'm jealous!
