does dealership matter?

I've bought my Type S from Chiswick Honda as they gave be the best price, but i have a few dealerships closer to home than. I've got a small problem with the gearbox and was wondering if i have to take it back to Chiswick or would I be able to take it to any honda dealership e.g alan day?

Hi Chetan
Im glad you asked this question as I may be in a similar position to you in the future. I shopped around and got a much better deal from a dealership about an hour and a half away.
To my mind the warrantee should be valid with any outlet, but i'd be interested to hear from anyone who knows for sure.

You can take the car to any Honda dealer to have warranty work and servicing done. Just because you bought the car at one dealer, it doesn't tie you to them.

You are indeed.

What's the problem, maybe the tech-heads around here might be able to help

seem to have to push a lot harder to get the gearstick into 2nd, and if i'm slowing down and want to get into first i have to almost be at a standstill before i can do so.

on the odd occasion i get that dreaded grind as the gear isn't in position

Just get that motor to the stealer ASAP.

I could easily get worse and pack up altogether.

Like my father's gearbox once did in his Triumph 1500.

His box locked up in 2nd!

Then you've gotta get the car back to base in whatever gear you've got left.

He only had to go 80 odds miles to get home!

Any dealer would be happy to do warranty work as they all get paid the same rate from Honda. How well they perform is another matter altogether! If they do a good job and then they will no doubt have you for servicing etc.
