Facelift?????
I have had my Civ since March 2006 and in September it will be time to change it. I would happily buy another but am worried that a facelift may be imminent (within next 6-9 months), so would rather wait or buy something else as i like to have the latest model for the duration of my ownership.
My question is how likely do you think a facelift is within the next twelve months? The Civic was launched Nov 2005 and Honda have a habit of facelifting after two years (last CRV, Jazz, Accord.........). Anybody know anything!? James |

I think this version is selling so good that there is no need for Honda to make a facelift.. and that two years what you mentioned is better three..
I think the there wont be a facelift for MY08 (maybe just some slight changes like between MY06->MY07) my view is that MY09 will be the facelifted model (wich you can buy in 08 sept.-oct.) |

I was comparing pre / post facelift differences on the old civic whilst waiting to order my car...
If honda's recent history is anything to go by, then if there is a facelift, then it is likely to be just differences in the plastic bits like the lighting pattern in the tail lights, a new range of alloys, new colours, and an enhanced options list |

Manufacturers in general tend to facelift models to keep them upto date with the competition - as the Civic is so left field in the styling department not sure if Honda will facelift - it wont look old compared to the competition as no competition looks anything like it.
Will probably be proved wrong but thats the reason I understand that facelifts come about - make a model more desirable/comparable with other manufacturers models - or if its not selling well - no problems with the Civics selling Alex |

Im not sure a facelift would be purely cosmetic. Probably incorporate some features that should have been standard in the first place. Aux-in etc

The current civic was officially launched in January 2006 although there were a few cars released prior to this date I would say the fact the type R has just recently been launched and has v.similar looks to the type S and 5 door that it will be at least another year + before the civic is given any facelift I would say it is generally 3 years before Honda make any major changes to their cars based on last civic, jazz and CR-V |

I think that one improvement would be and its not a facelift .... let's have a spare wheel, the same as the other four. Some people think that it is ridiculous that it is sold without a spare. I'm inclined to agree. Could anyone tell m what Honda charge for the tyre gunge, as Halfords are selling something very much like it for a tenner.

That sounds great.

Don't forget that the facelifted model might not be as good as the previous model.
The previous model Civic went through a small makeover during it's life and they added some odd looking headlights and even odder looking reflectors in the rear bumper. And don't forget the Subaru Impreza, a glorious car that was ruined, looks wise with a facelift. Although the bugeyed model was great to drive, it was a nightmare to sell because it was so ugly nobody wanted to buy one. |
