Peter Brooks themselves aren't cheap, on average I reckon around £1,000 more per car on screen price than other dealers I've seen.

I bought my car for £11,800 and I couldn't see anything similar there for less than nearly £14,000 at the time.

In any case I've fallen out with them after a senior member of staff at Woodseats allegedly sold me out to the dealership that I bought my car from by allegedly telling them my paintwork damage was acceptable in his view.

How can damage be acceptable? Maybe when assessing the fitness for selling a car on your forecourt but on a customers privately owned vehicle that was previously cosmetically perfect? It's either damaged or its not.

Your garage is supposed to represent your interests not pull the rug from under you. The result of his alleged comment (relayed to me by the service manager at the dealership I bought the car from (who's now left)) was that they then denied liability at a time when they were discussing putting things right.

So I personally couldn't recommenced Peter Brooks to anyone.

Anyway, I've now had some warranty work on the paintwork by Honda who finally accepted responsibility themselves (although there is an ongoing story there).

So I now prefer Gordon Lamb's Honda at Chesterfield where I've had excellent service in every respect.

Good to know about Gordon Lamb as its not far from me and Peter Brooks/gilders at Rotherham have been ok so far but like you i have no faith in any dealer!
