Key number plate

Hello! When you picked up your new Honda Civic, did you receive a key number plate along with two keys?

I did not, but the instruction manual says that this should have been delivered with the car.

Yeh small plastic card with a bar code attached. No big drama, just go to the dealer they should keep a record of such things.

No I did not get this key number plate either.
My dealer told me I didn't need one.
Figure that means if i give them the chassis number (read thhrough the windscreen) and some adequate ID, I should manage.

if you just look on the inside front page of your service book you "should" find the lock number for your car written there,it is also noted on the pdi checklist that you should have got with the car upon delivery. generally if the car has not had any replacement locks fitted then all your dealer will need is the reg number or the chassis number to order replacement keys !

But the manual states that I should have gotten the card with the lock number on.

i received a spare key (with a little rubber protector on!) and a tag with a barcode on it. I guess that must be it.

I didn't get one either - the manual states you "may" receive one I think. Nice and vague.

I queried this with 2 dealers and they reassured me they can get a spare key without any issues from the VIN number.
