Exclamation Avonvale Honda

Hi,
I range Avondale Honda in Coventry and Stratford to find out the price of a 1st service for my civic, i was quoted £186 from Coventry and £222 from the Stratford Garage, i find the prices quite expensive afterall the 1st service on the civic is mainly an oil & filter change.
Both the garages are under the same franchise but how come the price is so different?
Cheers

The price of servicing is set by the individual dealer. It seems that £140 to £180 is right for the first service on the diesel. I think some ringing around is needed...

Our first service was £199.19 at Avonvale Stratford in mid May. They also sorted out a front suspension bump stop, early morning creaking from the rear suspension, and replaced the fuel flap spring ... which was working fine. It has to go back in July for a recall on the windscreen seal and some warranty work for corroded rear disks.

The customer service at Stratford seems pretty good - we had our previous Civic fom there and went back as we were treated like valued customers.

Ive got that suspension problem on my civic, its been in twice and they cant find the fault, did the stratford garage say what the cause of the problem was?

They just said they had adjusted something - which I took to mean tightening up the subframe mountings. There are other threads on this subject - the answers are often to do with the rear springs being upside down, packing between different parts of the car, and rear subframe mountings.

This thread has links to some of the others ...

Creaking Rear!

Just to be clear - after leaving the car on the drive overnight there was a creaking noise from the rear end as we drove off the drive and onto the road - by the time we had gone more than 10 metres things had quietened down.

Btw.... its Avonvale.... (not Avondale).

The Coventry Avonvale was on of the cheapest garages around in the area for my servicing. They always give me absolutely spot-on servicing everytime!

(They've serviced in excess 250,000 miles of Honda Civics for me over the last 6 years).

Best deal fro the 1.8s is the Honda Happiness thingy. Paid £500 up front and it has covered the servicing for the next 5 years. Just had the first one, dropped off the NHB and drove away in a 1.8 paddle shift auto. Dealer rang to say NHB was ready, picked it up - smashing no bill to pay

I've got the Happiness thingy and it works a treat.

Took Millie into the stealers for her service and they fixed her all up with 'no' charge.

Didn't get a courtesy car though!

Had to cross the road myself to get to the Pub while I waited for the service to be carried out!
