Angry Cant Have my new Civic for 9 Quid a Month!

I was meant to be having a 1.8 EX as a company car, i have had my quote back from masterlease and its nine quid over budget!!!

The firm wont budge on the allowance either, which means I have got to drop to a 1.8 ES or Sport! I even said I would pay the extra 9 per month myself but to no avail!!!!

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!

I will still end up getting the space ship of my dreams...but not in the Spec I want

Hard luck. But I suppose they turned down your offer, in case you left the company in six months time. Somebodys got to pick the tab up.

Yeah thats with the NHB taken off. Thats another £7 per month for optional paint!

All is not lost yet though. Ive begged and begged the guys who deal with sorting the cars out to see if they can get the price down. Hes rung them up and they are going to see what they can do, they said they will look if there are any ex-stock laying about in the country that they can get cheaper.

If all else fails I will prob go for the 2.2 Sport or the 1.8 ES.

Go for an ES cdti, what you'll lose in toys you'll gain in OOMPH!

I agree with madasadad.....get an ES then buy a Tomtom and use that for hands free. The wider tyres of the EX add rolling resistance so lower economy. The normal headlights are OK (although I did like the HIDs when I had a loan car), and who really needs headlight washers?
The ES also has the panoramic roof as standard.

Terry.

I agree Also. The Ex has some fantastic things as standard, but I would say that there is compelling arguement for not having Sat-Nav! Other things can be fitted aftermarket, if you can get away with it!

The Diesel is a lot of fun, and you don't use half teh toys anyway.
With a bit of good haggling you should be able to get your EX for £16 to £16.5K (or less).

Have had ES and EX. No contest - hold out for the EX.
One reason...The sat nav linked to the Traffic Management Channel. It warns of traffic jams - in a way that Traffic Announcements on the radio can only dream about - then offers you an optioon to detour around them.
Both salesmen have told me that only the ES and EX really hold their value. Yes I know they-would-say-that-wouldnt-they but I got a good deal on the trade in on my ES and reckon my EX will be sought after in a year or 3.

Tomtoms can also do this

If you are concerned with holding value (which I doubt the OP is as its a company car) then you really should go for the diesel.

May also be worth looking at the Type-S, what you lose in terms of SatNav (versus the EX) you gain in terms of looks, IMO

No that was just for the base spec in the EX. Hopefully I should know on Monday if my Transport Manager can screw Masterlease down in price.

If not I think I will opt for the 2.2 Sport. As the 2.2 ES is roughly £200 more than the 1.8 EX (list Price) I think. And id rather have the bigger alloys (not going to buy anything for the car as its a Company Car...well except maybe the spoiler)
