Honda Happiness for Diesels
Just popped into my local dealership today to see how my order was getting on (no news, as computer system was down), but I did speak to the sales rep who said that Honda Happiness is now being offered for Civic Diesels
The cost : £850 for the 1st 5 services, should save you around £460 Apparently this is a national thing, not something set up locally Anyway, I suppose it's worth it if you intend to keep your civic for the longterm! The offer is open to any civic diesel owner whos car is less than 8 months old, and not yet had its 1st service |

It covers all parts replaced under normal service, like oil, filters, washer fluid, brake fluid.
Just had my first Honda Happiness service and no money had to change hands and I had a free loan car for the day. Regards Tony |

I placed an order 2 weeks ago for my Type S 2.2 for September delivery and the new 57 plate. They have included the Honda Happiness in the totel price. This would indicate that it is not just available on 07 plates.

I picked up my 2.2 EX just under a month ago. Last weekend I received a letter from my dealer about the Honda Happiness addressed directly to me and with the model of my civic correct. However they'd got the price down as £500, rather than the £850 it should have been. After speaking to them about it yesterday I received a phonecall today confirming they'd let me have it for the advertised £500
Incidently according to the letter you can sign up for Honda Happiness procided your car is less than 8 months old and has done less than 8000 miles (the later may be an issue for some - I know I've done over 1700 miles already Kithran |

Ok just to confuse things a bit more, went into my local dealers today to sign the paperwork for my purchase of a '55' plate 2.2 with 10,000 on the clock and the dealer gave me a leaflet on 'Honda Happiness'.

How much is the services for a diesel, not just the first service, but all 5?
I've made a quick Excel Spreadsheet; It adds 5% interest onto the £850 then subtracts the cost of what the service would be, it does this all the way down (Adding interest onto the newly decremented amount) I don't know if it is an accurate way of calculating what one would loose in interest over 5 years - but for the £850 to be worth while, the average cost of a service would have to be £196.33 or more. Which maybe it is, but with Honda Happiness, does it include brake pads? Does it include brake fluid changes etc? There isn't alot of specifics on the Honda website, or anywhere. The website seems to think they'll give brake pads etc at fixed prices Front brake pads £85 :O and they'll give you complimentry check of the condition of the tyres, brakes, suspension etc. Although, I had to fill my details out to get to that information on the website, perhaps they'll post me the in-depth Ts and Cs. |
